Tried to watch the 1950 King Solomon’s Mines, but I couldn’t get past the shock of seeing an African elephant killed for real in the opening. Subsequently read it was stock footage of a “culling” operation, but still. “Values were different then” etc. But…actual murder takes me out of a movie.
