I know I’m supposed to reject the notion that history is ever static. That it is, instead, contingent to its moment and always in flux. But how else do you explain that *across time* nativists, eugenicists, race supremacists, and other believers in “good genes” are, without exception, busted uggos?

I’m certain many of those involved thought they were the “good guy with a gun”

That the Trump administration thinks it’s powerful enough to cast aside its most powerful constituent institutions is scary. Let’s hope they’re wrong.

The joke is Barron got rejected from Harvard, which seems plausible, but are we certain it wasn’t Stephen Miller?

The 2020s will be known for its permissive racism

There are no good reasons for this beyond being scared that the administration would just not comply and further compound The issues with the courts or that there will be violence from the Trump base. Neither of these is a good reason as they are both symptoms of authoritarian collapse.

Free minds, free markets

Really confusing day for anyone who worked in a restaurant to realize that when we were told an item on the menu had been "86'ed" that meant the kitchen staff had assassinated it in cold blood.

Just the dumbest, most powerful person on earth threatening a beloved American icon with all the power of the US state

Earl Sweatshirt dunking on billy woods in the New York Times

Yes, the politics of NYU’s response are abhorrent, but so is its anti-intellectualism. “Personal and one-sided political views”? Public speech should only address universal themes? wtf?

Posting again to say these are not crimes and it would be nice if the reporting made that clear instead of parroting the feds pathetic case

Me all day waiting on the Shams post about Tatum

If you have an IG close friends and don’t include me on it, explain yourself

Less civility, more doxxing ICE agents

this guy is out here proudly being a eugenicist freak while people at mainstream and "respectable publications" make excuses for him or even muse about whether he has a "few good points"

If you’re still scrambling for a Mother’s Day gift, you can’t go wrong with doxxing ICE and HSI agents.

Footage of a member of Congress bodyslamming an ICE officer would be so cool if it existed

“The Guns of Brixton” been playing a lot lately in anyone else’s head?

“Abolish ICE” is the moderate position. Radical is “prosecute every ICE employee under RICO.”

Masked federal agents in military fatigues taking sitting mayors into custody as the framers intended

Googling in search of early reviews for the new billy woods and was treated to this banal Ai analysis of the album’s title… Popularity and racism are not mutually exclusive, folks. For much of US history, racism has been quite popular!

It’s crazy how bad the Celtics have to play to lose twice by one possession

Watching a replay of the Indiana Fever preseason game today (I know I’m not well) and all the Bad News Bears vibes of last year are gone. They looked stacked on paper and it translates to the court more so.

We never made it to Vietnam in my high school US history classes in the late-90s. Good luck getting to 5 years ago, Oklahoma.
