Glyphosate is one of the most vilified chemicals. Influencers claim it causes countless health issues. It doesn’t. Glyphosate interferes w/EPSPS, a plant enzyme. Humans don’t have EPSPS = no mechanism of harm. 50 YEARS of data show this. This is basic biochemistry.

harris’ fundraising after she took over from biden shows that we will open our wallets when we see leadership. right now we don’t (with some exceptions) so no cookie for you.

Every doctor will tell you to eat healthier and will happily give you as much information as you’re willing to take. The problem isn’t doctors refusing to talk about nutrition, it’s patients refusing to listen.

At one point I thought the Dems calling for abolishing ICE were pushing things too far beyond what the public would accept. At this point, abolishing ICE is mandatory. The organization is rotten through and through. There’s no way to reform it.

A Muslim candidate for mayor of the nation's largest city, defending the rights of a Jewish candidate for mayor, who was arrested for defending the rights of immigrants not to face detention without warrants. This is the kind of solidarity Trump and his goons fear.

what always bothered me about the "Trump 1.0 was better than George W. Bush" argument is that it was true in a vacuum but also just a function of circumstance. if Trump had been in office on 9/11 the response would have been absolutely insane.

Trump has been negative on immigration twice; after the Kilmar Abrego Garcia case, and after the Stephen Miller quotas went into place and sparked unrest. This is a sign people should be leaning into his outrages to highlight how terrible they are, not running away from the issue.

Can’t believe nobody wants to go to a soccer game to be kidnapped by ICE

A top staffer to Sen. Tina Smith emailed Sen. Mike Lee’s top staffers on Monday about “how much additional pain you’ve caused on an unspeakably horrific weekend” Via Sam Stein on twitter

🧵 THREAD: Introducing COYOTE Media Collective 11 Bay Area journalists are launching a worker-owned newsroom because we're tired of corporate control sapping all the joy out of journalism. Independent Bay Area journalism—with a BITE 🐺 1/4 givebutter.com/coyotemedia

I didn’t expect my 3-year-old son to find comfort in a YouTube screen while we were surviving a war. But during the long, hunger-filled days of displacement in Gaza, with bombs overhead and no clean water in our mouths, he would whisper her name like a lifeline: “Ms. Rachel.”

The miasma theory is not "outdated," it's fucking nonsense. It thought people got chlamydia from rotten air. The "germ theory" isn't "widely accepted," it's proven scientific fact, and it's the only thing that allowed humanity to advance and cure diseases. Otherwise, great headline.

The fact that they have to put Trump in his kiddie fake high school uniform to look anything like patriotism when he dodged the draft is just…. Epic

when law enforcement is ever present and suddenly not required to show identification or act professionally, all someone needs to commit their preferred act of atrocity is half of a spirit halloween costume

Trump throwing a military parade for himself despite never serving in the military is a metaphor for his entire existence.

But of course, this will turn into a mothers' problem. Rather than regulating the vehicles, we'll end up blaming moms if their kids get hit. Since, obviously, those kids shouldn't have been crossing the street alone. 🙄

Once again, it seems to me that when a court finds the president is doing something wildly unconstitutional, it is dangerous and unhealthy that we default to “but let him keep doing it until multiple layers of review all agree.”

I saw John Hodgman at an Apple Store in Philadelphia. I took a creepy picture instead of saying something to him because I assumed he’d just be annoyed that some dork was bugging him while he was trying to buy a phone case or whatever.

It's a truly jarring split screen that Kristi Noem's goons attacking Sen Padilla happened at almost the exact same time as 16 Dem senators crossed lines to vote with the GOP to invoke cloture on the crypto bill, forfeiting any leverage. Dems need to act like an opposition.

A panel of antivaxxers in charge of vaccine recommendations, approvals, and insurance coverage…to gatekeep vaccines from Americans. The goal has always been to take away all vaccines, and it is disgraceful that so many in the media and in power pretended it could ever be anything but that. For shame

Elon Musk gutted the federal government, dismantled key institutions, and cut off food and medicine to some of the poorest people on the planet. By leaving DOGE, he’s trying to restore his reputation and rescue his struggling businesses. He should never be allowed to recover.

i am not being pollyannish when i insist that the people who sign up do not sign up to advance a president’s domestic political agenda www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

I don't even think Sam Altman is going to have novel insights next year. I'm certain his plagiarism/hallucination machine will not.

For the Susan Collins voted to confirm RFK Jr. - as did every single Republican Senator except for Mitch McConnell. They are all going to be responsible when children and people suffer and die bc of RFK Jr's actions. #MEPol

Okay so the Third Amendment jokes are funny obviously but there's also a deeper point, I think: Trump is more alike the exact things the Founding generation were afraid of than anything the country has faced in the interim

see, the thing *i’m* genuinely worried about is that RFK will effectively ban vaccines

A place I think the Dems could actually earn some media and move the public by acting is pushing for impeaching Kennedy Not to put anyone on blast, but I've seen well-engaged people surprised to learn you can impeach people besides the President, and lying in testimony is reason to!

I feel like this screenshot makes it clear that even Apple is aware that their new Liquid Glass design is a legibility nightmare. Notice how the model's body is conveniently not behind any of the text?

It may not be what they voted for, but it sure is what he ran on.

Politics hasn't been this simple in a long time: do you think it's good for one man to exercise unchecked, arbitrary power or not. Those are the two available ideologies right now

The military isn’t being employed to carry out an immigration policy. The immigration policy, and especially the way the administration is choosing to carry it out, is an excuse to call out the military.

Simple story: when a politicians says "I support crypto," they are saying "I am a corrupt sleazebag who takes bribes." (You can get that from Google translate.) econjared.substack.com/p/crytpo-the...

If a seven-year-old can’t walk to the store the fault lies not with the parents but with the community.

When I was in 6th grade, one of my friends was killed when he stepped out from between two parked cars into a street. As far as I know, no charges were brought against anyone, certainly not his parents. The driver really couldn't have done anything to avoid the accident.

If there are prominent democrats who would be exposed as rapists from the Epstein files, I’d welcome their release. I don’t give a fuck what your politics are, if you rape children, you belong in jail, not government.

Buffoonery aside, I think a lot of Americans can't process that multiple generations of Germans renounce and revile past actions rather than treat them as an aspect of of their culture that must be maintained.

“Bacon eggandcheese on a long roll.”

How about we protect them from being shot? No? …oh.
