So much to digest from today. Or not? Maybe it was just a classic case of pressure (when expected to win) getting to #NUFC ? Either way, not for now. Cup won. Champions League secured. What a season & whatever players we sell or sign, it’s from a position of strength. Club is going places.

As suspected…beat Everton and #NUFC are there. Brighton and today have been so frustrating. Win next week. Big summer. Going places.

#NUFC should be looking upwards & focus on beating Arsenal. If we do, we’re there. That said, if I could have one other result go our way this weekend it would be Spurs to beat Villa. As it’s almost impossible for Chelsea and Forest to finish ahead of us considering they are playing each other.

Only thing that matters is the 3 points. But that second goal is also HUGE btw! Means that even if we lost by 2 goals against Arsenal, Chelsea would still need to win by 3 vs Man Utd to go ahead of us on GD heading into final game (as we’ve scored 6 more). Big. Details. #NUFC

BRUUUUUNOOOOOOOOOOOO COME ON YOU FUCKING MAGS. Not been pretty, but fuck me come on!!!!! #NUFC ā¤ļøšŸ–¤šŸ¤šŸ–¤šŸ¤ā¤ļø

Are #NUFC playing 4231 with Burn at left back or a back 3 with Murphy / Tino playing wing backs?

How are we feeling today #NUFC fans? I’m shitting it. But that’s just because it’s such a massive game, not because I doubt we can do it. Villa result just confirms what we knew - it’s on us. 2 wins out of 3 and we’re there.

Ok if: - Forest lose to Palace (A) & beat Leicester - Villa lose to Bournemouth (A) - #NUFC beat Chelsea We’d be 6 clear of Villa & 3 of Che/NFFC. I *think* 1 point from our final two would then be enough. As the most Che/For can BOTH get in final two is 4pts. All achievable. Big week.

That was a painful watch for 90 minutes. But I think it’s a huge point for #NUFC. If Chelsea / Forest win, it keeps us ahead of them (likely). If they lose, we’re 3 clear with a better goal difference & them to play each other. Win our 2 home games, we’re there.

Miley, Gordon, Botman. #NUFC

I keep thinking about the extra depth / quality we’d have if Anderson and Minteh didn’t have to be sold. Think about those options in two key positions. Hopefully we have the Ā£ to sign 3/4 first-team ready signings. But let’s keep building the youth for quality depth in years to come. #NUFC

Mentality matters today. #NUFC went into the cup final focused on the opportunity of winning, not worried about losing. Lose today, we can still get top 5. So let’s focus on the opportunity. Win, and we’re almost there. We can actually chase down 2nd. Let’s be mentality monsters. Come on.

Realistically Forest will likely sneak a win tonight. But Brentford are a good side & hard to break down (as #NUFC found recently). If Brentford win, they’re bang in the race for Top 8 & Europe. Forest will be guttef after the FA Cup. If they do lose / draw, it’ll be a big night for us.

#NUFC have beaten Arsenal 3 times this season, without conceding, & have won 4 of the last 5 Yet we won’t go into that game expecting to win. We can, but we won’t expect it Similarly, we need to forget our bad record at Brighton. It’s a new game. We are a good side and if we turn up, we win.

Big big #NUFC result today šŸ‘ŒšŸ» Man City have easiest fixtures & prob get top 5 Forest under pressure again on thurs. 3 tricky games. Chelsea sticking with us. Have to stay ahead of them next week & then beat them at St James’ šŸ™šŸ» Villa 5 behind & had a bruising 4 days. 4 hard games left. Tight.

Well the treat happened! Fucking good result. I still think we can finish ahead of Man City btw. But the only thing that matters is #nufc getting CL football and MC have easier fixtures than Villa. This pops Villa’s bubble. If we beat Ipswich it’s like Sat never happened. Onwards.

Have a bad feeling villa nick this. Strong bench. Man City not the side they were Wouldn’t mind if City’s last 4 weren’t so favourable. If Villa get 6 wins on the bounce including Forest City & #nufc then can see them powering on. A late defeat for them would be a treat.

Hopefully the run of unhelpful results for #nufc ends tonight. A city win the best result imo as they’re very likely to get top 5 either way with their other 4 fixtures. A draw not a disaster but does continue Villa momentum. Whatever the result, Newcastle need to beat Ipswich. In our hands.

All but 3 of Man Utd and Spurs’ league wins (combined) have come against the bottom 3 since the start of December. If one of those promoted sides had enough quality to compete I swear one of those fuckers would be going down. Shite weekend for #nufc but still 4th. Need to beat Ipswich & go again

I think Forest are likely to beat Spurs tonight who are a perfect opponent for them. But if Forest don’t win, that would indicate they’re in a ā€˜mini slump’ at the worst time. If #nufc can stay 3rd tonight, then forget this weekend, reset, & we have a head start going into the final 5. Come on!!!

Continuing this theme… In 22/23 post Villa #nufc won 3 games (Spurs/Soton H, Everton A), before losing to Arsenal. We now have Ipswich/Chels H & Brighton A before Arsenal Hopefully we get something at Arsenal, but if we match the three wins first we surely give ourselves every chance of CL qual

Right, starting to feel a bit less shit after that #nufc result. Fulham win tomorrow. Man City win vs Villa Tues. We beat Ipswich Saturday. If that happens, today is forgotten & 2 games closer to end of season. If spurs can stop Forest winning on Monday too, would be an added bonus.

#nufc recent run has parallels to 22/23. Win v MUFC (H) after two hard fought wins (Wolves/Forest v WHU/Brentf) MUFC win first of a 3 game week (WHU/Brentf v Palace/Villa) Middle game a big win (5-1 vs 5-0) Villa (A) after 5 prem wins, lost by 3 both times Let’s hope we finish in CL again…

Fucking rank result. We’ve been battered tbh. But i’m trying to be objective. If the table was as it is after a draw or win at Villa Park, & #nufc 3rd after 5 wins in 6, we’d feel like we’re in the driving seat for CL. Forget this game, focus on Ipswich, and finish this remarkable season out.

If the cup final was a 10/10 level of nervous & excited, today’s game is 8. Villa a good side & direct rival. But #nufc a top side in great form and we absolutely can win which would go a long way to CL football. Isn’t it just fucking great to have so many consequential matches though?

Another tough game tomorrow for #nufc. But with our form, we should (and I’m sure are) going to Villa feeling we can win. With Chelsea facing a tough game at Fulham, a win vs Villa really could all but kill off Villa/Chelsea finishing above #nufc - 8 pts with 5 games to go surely too big a gap.

I genuinely think watching this #nufc team is everything I’ve always wanted a Newcastle team to be. Committed. Solid. A unit. Individual flair. Physical. Brutally ruthless. Technique. We seem to have added a winning confidence / ability to handle pressure moments since the cup win too.

Tonight is a really tough, massive game. Palace are a good side. I’ve so often felt demoralised as an #nufc fan due to other teams’ results. We can do that to them tonight. If we’re at our best we will win. Let’s be relentless. Let’s make the others feel like it’s a mountain to climb.

Mid week scenarios that could help #nufc … The Lyon v Man Utd game being intense. Man Utd, Chelsea & most importantly Villa still being in the tie going into the second legs next week. Big, intense games with something to play for. Ultimately we just need to focus on ourselves.

Massive win last night. 3 league wins in a row, and #nufc have set ourselves up for a massive last 8 games. Both Brentford and Leicester were pretty average performances. With Gordon, Willock, Botman likely to return in the next couple of weeks it feels positive. Into Man Utd on Sunday!!!

Nervous about tonight. But in a good way. What an opportunity to set ourselves up for a CL push - winning tonight, with two tough but winnable home games next, will be a blow to our rivals as much as a boost for us. How good is it being nervous for #nufc games though! So much to play for.

Couldn’t have been a better set of results this weekend for #nufc. Game by game. Focus on Leicester - need to play them with our max intensity to take advantage of positive other results. Win and we are in a cracking position.

I hate that for the second time in a week I’m watching Man Utd hoping they do #nufc a favour (particularly as other results this weekend have gone well!) First takeaway - even by their abysmal current standards, Dorgu is shite.

4 home wins and a draw in that order would be nice today. #nufc

Tottenham are awful. Hoped they’d do #nufc a small favour tonight but never worth relying on them. Good news is Chelsea look pretty average & would be surprised if they don’t drop a few points in run in. Newcastle just need to focus on our games. In our hands.

Kind of weirdly makes #nufc winning 8 of their 14 home games so far pretty impressive. Especially as the final 5 of Ipswich Everton palace man United and Chelsea all fall into the ā€œshould winā€ category. If Newcastle can push for 15 points then fuck me what a season.

#nufc home form has been interesting. Arguably haven’t been comfortable in any league match bar Leicester (maybe wolves / villa but even then not really). Have played well in close games v top sides (Liverpool/arsenal/city), some marginal (spurs forest Brentford) & some flat (b’mouth Brighton WHU).

On this day in 2023, #nufc beat Man Utd 2-0 at St James’ to move onto 50 pts and set us up for a final push into Champs League. Desperate for a big win tonight at St James’ to move us on to 50 pts and hopefully set us up for a final push into Champs League. Let’s keep it going.

Well…we won 2 of the 3. If you’d said we could only win 2 I probably would have taken the league and, most importantly, cup final win. Finally won something. History defining indeed. 10 games, 6 at home. If #nufc can use their confidence and win 7 of last 10…champs league here we come.
