This is a manifesto for my politics. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

The time has come. I have grown bored of my bio. I must ruminate on new possibilities.

The FTC's Republican leadership offered an expansive view of how much control parents should have over children’s data and online activity at an agency workshop on Wednesday, remarks that likely will foreshadow their enforcement priorities on the issue, reports Cristiano Lima-Strong.

So this is a fun and flavourful detachment (literally the most important thing) and it totally makes sense to have a Chaos version of the Librarius Conclave but, Where Is My Proper Word Bearers Detachment? Ok actually I want two: one for demons and one for cultists. Please 🙏🏽

A really wonderful story to eat. That pun is an unmitigated disaster, though. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I mean, fair.

Take a day off, Calm.

Seeing some of the paint jobs people are putting on these new models is making me seriously reconsider the first clause of this sentence.

I'm very sad to learn that Alasdair MacIntyre has died. He is a huge influence on me and After Virtue will always remain a pivotal read. dailynous.com/2025/05/22/a...

This app pulls not a single punch.

More and more observe a strong strain of what one might call a sort of secular animism within modern environmental discourse, always lyrical in mode and in stark contrast to the Platonic cast that typifies most 'mystical' writing in the Western tradition. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Some advice I'll try to take to heart.

I was cautiously hopefully when I saw Leo's choice of name that we will see the spirit of Rerum novarum pressing on along the path of reform that Francis began to chart. www.france24.com/fr/europe/20...

This is honestly confounding to me. Reading to my daughter, who is perfectly capable of reading on her own, an activity we also share, is one of my great joys as a parent. It's fun for me, it shares my love of reading with her, it brings us closer together. www.theguardian.com/books/2025/a...

The overall aesthetic of the Space Wolves isn't for me but I must allow that the optional assembly arm of Arjac Rockfist throwing Foehammer à la Marvel's Thor is absolutely inspired.

A pure and noble calling. https://observer.co.uk/news/sport/article/hit-the-ball-as-hard-as-you-can-or-bowl-it-as-fast-as-you-can

The CofE and SEC would do well to try to learn what's driving this movement and think about it they can position themselves to meet this cohort's needs. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/a...

An interesting little tidbit about the Tortoise takeover of The Observed: a new bookskore. www.thebookseller.com/news/new-onl...

I'm a long-standing listener and reader of Tortoise so I'm watching this with great interest. pressgazette.co.uk/publishers/n...

Hot take alert: no one asked for this www.androidauthority.com/google-trans...

Ok but I need this. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Perfect. Just what I need: another chess-learning app and another reason to be served Duolingo ads. www.theverge.com/news/649319/...

What in the hell is this meant to be visualising?

Today in news that is incredible, exciting, and perhaps a touch terrifying. Courtesy of @semafor.com

Well it's been nearly a week and instead of calming down and focussing on my Word Bearers like a normal person I am literally naming my characters. Damn you, Games Workshop, you magnificent bastards.

So are we seeing a spike in Warhammer nerds starting the Mandarin course on @duolingo or is doing a language course tied into your new faction fixation truly just a me thing?

I know absolutely nothing about the situation on the ground but this sounds like a self-evidently good idea? So long as everyone involved is reasonable when it comes to setting up education, this is just, good, yes? https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cjevqgy7y7vo

I am problematically excited for Grand Cathay. Time to rethink all my army plans? Goddammit.

Ancient Greek religion just keeps getting more fabulous. Or, having been, more, fabulous. https://www.npr.org/2025/03/25/nx-s1-5332367/ancient-greece-rome-statues-smell-study-research

Stumbled upon a Krieg box in the world and didn't immediately buy it. Please applaud.

This is so viciously accurate. https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/opinion/columnists/the-world-must-be-very-underwhelmed-when-it-meets-scotland-despite-the-view-5044201

I'm currently enjoying a bit of the early access for Notion Mail and it's exactly what you'd expect: a little clunky; a touch backendy; and, once you've got it running, a joy to use. The interface and the approach are a breath of fresh air after literally all other mail clients. But where my app!?

Dearest Fitbit, I love you. But, 1. Please make the 'you haven't hit your cardio load target it's twice yesterday's do do it now' notifications go away, and, 2. Please bring back the little one-click buttons to log water why does this take 13 clicks now? Sincerely, Every user

Apropos of nothing, I have recently discovered that I quite enjoy a Belfast accent.

Extremely cool to see the CEFR being adapted to Gaelic. It's the sort of thing that seems a bit recondite and meaningless but it's an important step towards supporting Gaelic learning throughout Scotland. https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/25005450.new-framework-support-assess-gaelic-learning/

Damnit GW I don't have time for this right now I'm trying to work.

Between Heresy Thursday and these constant Necromunda releases, my hobby shopping list is getting a touch insanely pricey.

Ok, stick with me because this one is going to be pretty out there. Chaos Cultists (whose cult is run by the Word Bearers) Did I just blow your mind?

I can think of at least 5 uses for this fellow that don't even involve Necromunda.

As a person with degrees in both history (Master's, didn't finish my PhD) and theology (undergrad), among the most painful things that ever happens to me when reading or listening to an excellent historian and they absolutely mangle some very basic and/or important theology.

I may have actually written something that isn't horrible and is nearly ready to be submitted. Possibly.
