Since moving here 7 years ago, I’ve come to love this city and it’s people, one of the most diverse and culturally rich places in this country, made all the richer by its Mexican-American heritage. Trump needs to leave our people alone, and our State should protect us from this arbitrary violence.

The crackdowns on civilians and the threat of the national guard being sent to LA should be *the* most important story right now-- not the Trump/Musk feud or whatever the f**k that was. People are being terrorized all over the country. News outlets need to get it together.

The Vice President of El Salvador has told US Senator Van Hollen that the reason they are still holding Kilmar Abrego Garcia is due to the Trump regime paying them to do so. Trump needs to be arrested and brought up on human trafficking charges. #3E

🚨 I have just introduced articles of impeachment against President Trump. Donald Trump is not above the law, and when he ignores the constitution, he should be held accountable.

Here are Trump's troops in the Border Patrol firing tear gas on US citizens in Los Angeles. Why is Border patrol operating in LA? (By U.S. law Border Patrol can only operate within 100 miles of border and LA is out of that range) Why aren't the California AG and DA's charging them with crimes?!

Washington just took the reasonable step of not allowing the National Guard of other states to operate here without our agreement. It’s not the Guard personnel we are concerned about, it’s other governors in the Trump cult. katu.com/news/local/g...

This is the second day in a row that federal agents shot us both

seems to me the basic error these centrists are making is that they are playing on enemy turf, rather than trying to raise the salience of issues that favor them

With 18 days to go before June 24th, we’re focused on winning an affordable New York for working families. Remember, #RankTheSlate, and don’t rank Cuomo!

This is an old script. Just speed-running the worst parts of the late-nineteenth century.

“We’re in pretty big trouble,” Hill says, describing the UK’s geopolitical situation as caught between “the rock” of Vladimir Putin’s Russia and “the hard place” of Donald Trump’s increasingly unpredictable United States. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

This is like closing Times Square on New Year’s Eve. It’s a deliberate FU to World Pride from the Trump administration. Up to two to three million people will be on the streets of DC this weekend. They seem intent on provoking another Stonewall uprising.

Lee: Would say it would be “illegal DEI” for a lesson plan on the Tulsa race massacre? McMahon: I’d have to get back to you Lee: Do you know what the Tulsa race massacre is? McMahon: I’d like to look into it more and get back to you on it.

🚨 CBS reports that Trump has signed a new travel ban, with its most harsh bans on entry targeting 12 countries, and lesser restrictions targeting 7 more. Unlike the first ban, this one is also targeted at Haiti, Cuba, and Venezuela. We’ll need to see text to know what the restrictions are.

One year out of college and with no apparent national security expertise, Thomas Fugate is the Department of Homeland Security official tasked with overseeing the government’s main hub for combating violent extremism.

Our latest is the first of two parts on the US role in Greenland during the Cold War, focusing on the secret deployment of nuclear weapons there and the events leading up to the January 1968 crash of a nuclear-armed B-52 near Thule Air Base. (Click below to read) nsarchive.gwu.edu/briefing-boo...

Now even someone on ketamine, mushrooms and Ecstasy can see it.

The mayor of Tulsa announced plans for a $105 million private charitable trust to provide descendants of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre with housing assistance and scholarships

Yes, this administration has absolutely no credibility when it calls things antisemitism and that is a problem when people are throwing Molotov cocktails at Jews. It is a problem *for Jews.* They are actively making antisemitism harder to combat by inviting suspicion of any claim that it exists.

"Nawrocki told Braun that he would fight “all the disgusting attacks” on Poland by Holocaust scholars, and has previously promised to end the tradition of lighting Hanukkah candles in the presidential palace."" This is the candidate supported by the Trump admin in tomorrow's Polish election.

Capital's factions clashes in the Trump2 era. "The ambitions of the new Silicon Valley elite is not only to incapacitate the federal bureaucracy, but also to dethrone Wall Street." with @benbraun.bsky.social www.phenomenalworld.org/analysis/ame...

If you are familiar with any non-profit that does charitable work in Africa, you know this is not an exaggeration.

The flood of encomiums and morality tales about Elon's turn in Washington cldn't be more predictable, vapid & sickening. If you want a story, get me the story about the crisis comms team directing this. He ran anti-constitutional blitzkrieg thru the federal government, did massive harm, violated ...

This has always been the weakness of the Project 2025 strategy.

Hiring for the entire US Civil Service now includes a test for personal loyalty to the President.

“This obsession with controlling what can researched & taught on college campuses is antithetical to higher education, academic freedom, & most importantly our shared democracy.  Ultimately, these are attempts to undermine our democracy in pursuit of authoritarian political power.” — Todd Wolfson

Here’s the piece I recommend as context for the recent “ white genocide” talk —re South Africa’s Afrikaners—from the White House

the revealed position of the republican party is that it thinks broad expansion of higher education — and especially its expansion for certain americans — was a mistake that must be rolled back

actionnetwork.org/petitions/ny... signed. Pass it on.

@dirkmoses.bsky.social I assign the lucid essay by historian Dirk Moses on “white genocide” every year in my course on fascisms and populisms at Santa Clara University: my students read it for tomorrow’s class—a sad but uncanny coincidence

Powerful.

Just horribly racist and 2nd grade school project level incompetence

If they don’t get a golden “T” in the design soon, it’s toast

Still trying to understand why Trump fired — apparently without the legal ability to do so— The Librarian of Congress & — the register of copyrights, who served under her direction. Was firing the Librarian mostly a means to get into the copyright office? connect.archivists.org/discussion/s...

Foreign Secretary David Lammy suspends UK-Israel trade negotiations and summons the Israeli ambassador over IDF actions in Gaza, which he says are "incompatible with the principles that underpin our bilateral relations" and an "affront to the values of the British people."

Nothing Normal About Trump DOJ’s Case Against Dem Rep. LaMonica McIver: Still no charging documents but that didn’t stop top Trump DOJ officials from touting the case. Acting USA Alina Habba of N.J. posted a statement on X, and DAG Todd Blanche weighed in. talkingpointsmemo.com/morning-memo...

WELKER: Tariffs from the first term added $80 billion in higher prices for Americans. Why didn't you say they are a tax then? PENCE: Well, I probably did in the hallways, but the president gets to make the decision W: You told Trump that directly? P: Well sure
