If you love quest fantasy with gritty characters that feels a bit like the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I think you will enjoy The Devils by @joeabercrombie.com

What I picked up in the Indie Book Sale today! @llmacrae.bsky.social @robjhayes.bsky.social @skbalstrup.bsky.social @undyrk.bsky.social

@mattpittman.bsky.social and I along with another friend not on this platform have banded together to create The Gentlemen's Book Review which will be hosted by Jim of Fantasy for the Ages! Our 1st episode will feature our review and eventual interview with @mollymacabre.bsky.social Dark Bloom

One small note on Wind and Truth. Sanderson seems to be using a bit more crass language than in his other books. Which IMO is unfortunate and unnecessary as many have been attracted to Sanderson due to his mostly clean content. Nothing R rated, just a bit more than usual.

Narnia Ranked! 1. The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe 2. Voyage of the Dawn Treader 3. The Silver Chair 4. The Horse and His Boy 5. Prince Caspian 6. The Magician’s Nephew 7. The Last Battle

Starting The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell who was one of my favorite authors last year with Warlord Chronicles!

MASSIVE #indie ebook sale going on right with with tons of titles cheap cheap cheap cheap or even FREE! Shoutout to @jamesldulin.bsky.social for running this again! www.jamesldulin.com/blackfridays...

I’ve just read perhaps my favorite chapter in The Realm of The Elderlings so far. It was full of some of the most beautiful writing I’ve encountered. It was chapter 6 of Fool’s Fate titled, Voyage of Dreams. I can’t say more than that because of spoilers but it was so good!

The ebook of The Way of Edan is $0.99 in ALL Amazon markets as part of a massive sale of indie SFF books! Check out the sale and support some indie authors here: www.jamesldulin.com/blackfridays... A huge thanks to @jamesldulin.bsky.social for organizing!

Here are my most read authors for the year. I wish Robin Hobb was higher but got sidetracked from my RotE read earlier this year.

I’m not usually one to experience a book slump but Brando Sando has caused one for me. I can hardly look at a book. 😕

Alright, so how does this place work? Who else liked fantasy books? I’d love to meet some fellow folks who also enjoy fantasy! #fantasybooks

My current ranking of the Cosmere books I’ve read so far: 1. The Hero of Ages 2. Words of Radiance 3. The Way of Kings 4. Oathbringer 5. The Final Empire 6. Elantris 7. Warbreaker 8. The Well of Ascension Novellas: 1. Dawnshard 2. The Emporer’s Soul 3. Edgedancer

I’ve just started Part 4 in The Hero of Ages. I’ve got to say, most of Sanderson’s female characters across his books tend to blend for me almost like they are cookie cutter models, but Vin stands out for me among his characters. He did a really good job with her.

Everyone should follow this fantastic human being and author of a fantastic classic feel, epic right fantasy series Stone and Sky! bsky.app/profile/zsdi...

Hear me out. How about a coffee based magic system? Caffemancy?

Does following authors on Amazon do anything to boost or help them along? I’m just curious. I generally follow authors on there wasn’t sure how it benefits.

“The Good The Bad and The Ugly meets Eragon in this hight flying, fast paced, dragon riding Fantasy Western.” Check out my Goodreads review of Wild Skies by @keandrews95.bsky.social www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

After originally DNFing The Well of Ascension and more than a year later I finally finished the book. The second half was much better for me than the first.

Self-publishing quote from Ryan Cahill that keeps me going: "I refused to fail because I didn't work hard enough or because somebody else let me down." If you've listened to one of his interviews you've heard it. It's gold and every time I feel like giving up writing I think about this!

In Legend by David Gemmell, the beginning of chapter nine is dialogue between Druss and a man named Bowman. This may be some of the most delightful dialogue I’ve read in a while.
