Thank you @vinsyn.bsky.social for the Dirty Work 4K (which includes the original R-rated cut!!!). This is a great day for the cinematic arts.

Pure cinema.

The Mets are just awful right now. After a really fun start to the season, every game is pure agony. Has a real “nature is healing” kind of vibe. It doesn’t quite feel right when they play so well. Being a Mets fan should be painful. This team appeals to my masochistic (Metsochistic?) nature.

A chef interviewed in Netflix’s Poop Cruise doc compares a public restroom floor he discovered covered in layers of poop and toilet paper to a fecal lasagna. I will be thinking about this for a very long time.

One of the fun things that can happen when you talk to a director is occasionally you’ll observe and want to discuss a recurring theme in their work that they maybe didn’t consciously recognize they were putting in there. I had one of those moments during my interview with F1’s Joseph Kosinski.

My 3000th review on @letterboxd.social is...

BIG NEWS: This morning, @kphipps3000.bsky.social and I have moved The Reveal from Substack to Ghost. You can get the details in the link below. It was a scary decision for us, but we're excited about it and expect to keep this newsletter going long into the future. thereveal.film/the-reveal-h...

What a joyous and wonderful way to review a film. Really enjoyed this.

My children and tried to try some after the movie — but it appeared that the theater staff had filled the Elio's Glorp Icee tap with plain old cherry Icee. If not, then Elio's Glorp looks and tastes exactly like cherry Icee.

Seriously, this is the best review of anything, ever. Kids are the best.

Everyone’s favorite film critics (my children) are back with another review, this time of Elio. As usual, they say the darndest things. Plus you get to read my reaction to finding chocolate inside my kid’s nose. That’s right. INSIDE.

My kids love Turning Red. We have watched it many times. But this was the moment I realized that they view it as a horror movie.

Moments like these tell me I am raising these kids right.

To the publicist who emailed pitching a guest we should have on Filmspotting: SVU ... you are a bit late.

Awesome @robert-emmet.bsky.social interview with J. Hoberman on his new book, Everything Is Now.

Very cool to be quoted in this piece in the New York Times by @iamrumz.bsky.social on Jaws’ enduring influence on other films.

Galactus: I HUNGER Me, for the last 16 hours: I do not.

This is pretty clearly a Super Skrull Pizza.
