This is Waylon. He'd been in a shelter for 95 days when a woman came in with her son Cai. Cai asked so many great questions about how to keep him safe and healthy. When he returned to officially adopt Waylon, he arrived in a very dapper suit, saying it was a "special occasion." 14/10 for everybody

Update on Hippo, the cat at the local SPCA who had to have a leg amputated. Funding was reached -thank everyone who helped. Surgery is complete and he is recovering at a foster home - in about two weeks he will be back at the shelter looking for his Furever home. He looks bright-eyed.

We sponsored a spay and neuter clinic on Warm Springs, a reservation in Oregon — covering the care of 58 dogs. They were vaccinated and microchipped. Some also got surgery or wound treatment. Now, the need in the area is easing for the very first time. We're honored to help make this possible ❤️‍🩹

Saturday is California Adopt-a-Pet Day. Adoption fees are waived statewide. This is great! Except an unfortunate number of pets who get adopted on fee-free days get returned to shelters, b/c the adopters didn't realize the scope of the responsibility. Please do adopt, but adopt informed & for keeps!
