Our secret’s out: Minneapolis is a world-class dining destination. Congratulations Bûcheron and Chef Adam Ritter—you deserve it!

I’m grateful that our law enforcement partners in Minnesota acted with urgency to arrest the shooter and bring him to justice. Dozens of MPD officers worked around the clock to assist in the investigation, execute search warrants, and provide protection for targeted officials.

I am sickened by the assassination of Speaker Hortman and the attack on Senator Hoffman.

I have been briefed on the horrifying reports of targeted shootings in the north metro suburbs. We are coordinating with our partner law enforcement agencies and will share more information soon.

It’s a bittersweet day in the Twin Cities: After 70 years of service connecting Minneapolis and St. Paul, carrying more than 7,000 riders every day, and traveling almost a million miles each year, Metro Transit’s 21 bus route is officially retiring.

Our recruiting efforts are working—and this milestone proves it. But this isn’t just about numbers. It’s about building a community-centered department that leads the nation in public safety. That’s exactly what we’re doing in Minneapolis. www.audacy.com/wccoradio/ne...

Northside Forward isn’t just a plan—it’s a blueprint for the future of North MPLS. $1.5B over 10 years. 50 new businesses. 1,240 jobs. 3,800 homes. Thanks to the African American Leadership Forum and Adair Mosley, we’re building the future with the people who call it home.

Lasting police reform requires strong leaders who embrace change, support our residents, and face adversity head on. At this week’s MPD promotion ceremony, an inspiring group of individuals stepped up to lead the change that they want to see. Thank you for being part of our team!

In Minneapolis, we build housing that works for everyone. That’s why we’re creating 8.5x more affordable housing than previous administrations. The new Rivkin Apartments in Seward include 155 new affordable units—with several of the units reserved for people experiencing homelessness.

We are committed to police reform, even if the Trump administration is not. Our residents demanded meaningful change, and we’re delivering on that promise with this executive order, ensuring the work outlasts politics and any one administration. www.startribune.com/in-executive...

Quite the turnout at the 9th annual Downtown Run Around with Mile in My Shoes! MiMS brings people together from all walks of life—from recovery programs to reentry centers—and uses running to build trust, connection, and community. I’m proud of the impact they’re making in MPLS.

Eid Mubarak, Minneapolis! Eid al-Adha is a time to reflect on sacrifice and generosity—values that our Muslim neighbors live every day. Wishing everyone celebrating a peaceful and joyful holiday.

I am aware of the operation federal agencies carried out earlier today near Lake and Bloomington. While we are still gathering details, this incident was related to a criminal search warrant for drugs and money laundering and was not related to immigration enforcement. No arrests were made.

Nature, sports, art, music, food, world-class events—of course Minneapolis is one of this summer’s hottest tourist destinations. Come and see what the hype is all about for yourself! 10best.usatoday.com/awards/best-...

The shooting at Boom Island Park last night was completely unacceptable. My heart is with the victims and their loved ones today.

Pride Month is here—a time to celebrate love, resilience, and the progress of our LGBTQ+ community. Minneapolis is proud to host one of the nation’s oldest Pride celebrations, and we’ll keep pushing for inclusion and equity. Can’t wait to celebrate with all of you! 🏳️‍🌈

In Minneapolis, we’re using every tool available to fight the opioid crisis—including free access to Brixadi, a long-acting treatment for addiction. Through this new pilot program, we're breaking down barriers, reducing stigma, and getting people real support on the path to recovery.

Officer Jamal Mitchell was the very best of Minneapolis: a devoted partner, a loving dad, and an officer who, even in his final moments, was willing to run toward danger to help someone else. We will continue to honor his memory — and his courage will never be forgotten.

Copper wire theft is a nationwide trend—and we’re tackling it head-on here in Minneapolis. We’re stepping up with $1 million from the City’s contingency fund to speed up streetlight repairs across our neighborhoods. More repairs. More light. Safer streets. That’s what good governance looks like.

From Driver’s License for All to the Rise Up Center, Minneapolis is proud to partner with Unidos MN— a powerhouse for social, racial, and economic justice. As we work to better support our immigrant communities, partners like these are essential.

With a diverse job market, affordable rent, ample opportunities for further education, and more ways to get outside than almost any other city, it’s no wonder why Minneapolis was once again named one of the best places for recent college grads!

Since finalizing our settlement agreement, we’ve hit the ground running—building on the critical reform work already underway. We’ve nearly cleared the backlog of police misconduct complaints and are on track to eliminate it entirely in the coming months. www.kare11.com/article/news...

MPLS is home to bold, boundary-pushing art—and no one does it quite like Theater Latté Da. Last night’s gala was a perfect celebration of 27 groundbreaking seasons, with the 100th production just around the corner. Let’s keep lifting up the arts and the artists who move us!

We love and appreciate our Twin Cities parks... and it turns out, our parks are appreciated on a national level, too.

Whether you bike, golf, run, paddle, ski, hike, swim, or just want to enjoy a cold drink on a hot day, our parks are just one more reason Minneapolis is such an amazing place to live. Thanks to the MPRB for being such great stewards of our green spaces.

Our City is serious about our commitment to police reform, even if the president is not. We’ve already begun implementing the consent decree’s reforms, and we will continue to implement every single one – with or without the white house. www.kare11.com/video/news/l...

In the first year of monitoring, Minneapolis has made more progress toward building a foundation for reform than almost any other city in the country. That’s not by chance—it’s because we’re showing up, we’re doing the work, and we’re staying committed. www.kare11.com/mobile/artic...

Our independent evaluator has made it clear: In just the first year of monitoring, Minneapolis made more progress toward building a foundation for reform than almost any other city in the country. That’s not by chance—it’s because we’re showing up, we’re doing the work, and we’re staying committed.

It’s a big day for Minneapolis families! Thanks to MPHA and Comcast, we’re bringing high-speed WiFi to every public high-rise over the next several years. That means residents move in connected—ready for school, work, and life. This is what it looks like to invest in people.

Doors Open 2025 was a huge success! Hundreds of people explored our newly renovated City Hall—just one of dozens of incredible venues across Minneapolis. What a weekend. Thanks to everyone who came out.

With dedicated bike lanes, lake paths, and trails through the woods, it’s no wonder Minneapolis is consistently ranked one of the best biking cities in the country. Frida and I had a blast joining riders this morning for Bike to Work Day!

The past few months, I’ve had the chance to join annual meetings with neighborhood associations across the city—including Bryn Mawr. Conversations about safety, housing, and other important issues are how we stay grounded in the work. Grateful to everyone improving their communities, block by block.

Wolves in five! Minneapolis is ready for another big Timberwolves run. The atmosphere downtown is electric. Even if you don’t have tickets to tonight’s game, get yourself downtown to be a part of the action. Thanks for the chat, @fox9mn.bsky.social.

Had a great time at the Cardozo Society dinner celebrating leaders in our legal community who go beyond the courtroom to serve the broader good. These awards aren’t just about professional excellence — they’re about deep commitment to justice, learning, and community.

Proud to host the 2025 National Youth Employment Coalition Forum—bringing together leaders from across the country to empower young people. In Minneapolis, we don’t just believe in our youth—we invest in them. From Step-Up to Youth Works, we’re building real pathways.

The River Hub at Graco Park creates an uninterrupted trail along the Mississippi River and will be a summer hot spot for frisbee throwers & sunbathers. With Spark’d Studios, it’s more than a rec center—it’s a launchpad for creativity and learning. 10 years of work…now a reality!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and mother figures out there! We’re stronger, wiser, and better for your love, guidance, and support.

We believe every student has the right to grow, learn, and to just be a kid, but none of that is possible without amazing teachers. Thank you to all our amazing Minneapolis teachers out there doing the hard work—not just during Teacher Appreciation Week, but every week.

Excited to deliver my 2025 State of the City address today! Tune in live: www.youtube.com/cityofminnea.... It’s been a big year for Minneapolis — and I’m proud to highlight everything we’ve accomplished together.

¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo, Minneapolis! Today, we celebrate the rich culture, vibrant traditions, and invaluable contributions of our Mexican and Mexican-American communities. We’re proud to stand with our Latino neighbors, recognizing the profound impact they have on our city's character and vitality.
