yep! unpaywalled:

We made it to Friday! I'm going to share three tips on using Signal from someone who has been using it for both work and personal communications for...a long time.

the funniest thing to me about the whole "bluesky is an echochamber" thing is that when me and my friends moved here a good chunk of our audiences came with us. idk why your audiences aren't doing the same but i'm not sure why that's anyone else's problem but your own

bluesky is the #1 app for introspection

Holy shit a bunch of ICE prisoners who weren't getting fed broke down a fence and escaped this fucking rips Moreover, ICE must be destroyed www.nj.com/essex/2025/0...

Whole lot of people saying “she must resign” who should be saying “I am introducing articles of impeachment.”

This guy has single-handedly driven some of the most dedicated Democratic activists I know off of the City Committee. He blocked me on Twitter for *faving* tweets calling him out for his transphobic revisions to the Ward 7 Committee's bylaws. Please do not put him anywhere near power, Somerville!

LinkedIn suggestion to connect with the Google HR person who attempted to punish me for posting critical things about the James Damore memo. That's a nope.

this take is 100% correct. i do, in fact, hate pizza

Alright...y'all want some maps to distract you from the world. Sweet. I get that. Here are two very different maps that I've been working on this week (for different clients / projects).

I am ready to drive down to DC and join a sit-in in the Capitol Building if that is what is necessary to bring about impeaching DHS Secretary Noem. I am deadly serious. Just say the word and I'm on the road @trahan.house.gov @warren.senate.gov @markey.senate.gov

Every elected Republican should be asked if they think the president has the power to send in military in to “liberate” a state or city from its elected government.

This video from Senator Padilla's staff, shared to Twitter by Fox LA's Elex Michaelson, shows Padilla forced to the ground by men wearing FBI uniforms who then handcuff him behind his back. This is after he is forcibly removed from the Noem press conference for asking a question.

focusing just on padilla for a moment (and not on noem)—dems are starting to get more comfortable in taking loud and performative (complimentary) action in opposition to the administration

Maybe I'm in a generous mood, but a lot of the problems of social media come down to this: In the real world, society has long-developed barriers cordoning the humorless from the rest of us. Social media shoves the humorless in close contact with those who aren't so afflicted, and it's annoying.

thank you @bookriot.bsky.social buckaroos for naming lucky day one of the FIVE MOST ANTICIPATED QUEER BOOKS OF SUMMER this is a real treat i am honored. LOVE IS REAL bookriot.com/most-anticip...

This is America! Only ICE agents who are hiding their identities illegally can use masks!

Idk man but when the administration that tried to reject humanitarian aid for Los Angeles when it was burning tries to justify their illegal military occupation by saying they aren’t going to let LA burn it kinda sounds like bullshit

I love baseball

just found out that Google shut down its internal professional development arm and replaced every single class with prompt engineering slideshows

Every time someone complains about cyclists rolling through stops or whatever, I'm like "so you're in favor of automated ticketing for all motorists who go one mile over the speed limit, right?" Surprisingly, most drivers aren't!

the southern baptist convention just had to sell their headquarters in downtown nashville to pay for all the sex abuse legal fees.

If you publish a newsletter on SubStack, I'm not subscribing to it. Figure out how to get off of there.

Sometimes the data speaks very clearly...

Deep Blue is 30 years old and was capable of defeating chess grand champions. It could be housed in a single cabinet. ChatGPT spans untold data centers devouring massive amounts of electricity and it got its ass whipped by an 8 bit gaming console from the 1970s.

Arcadia, CA going all night against ICE and they are asking people to show up. Honk your horns, bring your drums and noisemakers

"trump *wants* people protesting in front of the marines" but the thing is many are going to be, quite literally protesting the marines. the marines should not be on american streets. it is wrong, it is antidemocratic, it is fascist, it is contrary to how people understand themselves as americans

No sleep for ICE tonight as activists found their hotel again. Hotel managers have to decide whether that GSA per diem money is worth having their hotel completely surrounded 24/7 by protesters.

No AI. No liars. No kings. No bigots. No racists. No rapists. No sexists. No thieves. No traitors. No fascists. No dictators. No terrorists. No emperors. No capitalists. No murderers. No Confederates. No propagandists. These things may not be identical, but they are each to be defeated where found.

Derek Guy might be one of the last *good* Main Characters of Twitter that there will ever be

remember during the 2017 solar eclipse all the experts were like "don't look directly at an eclipse, you could go blind" & dumbass Trump looked directly at the eclipse? we should build Trump a big beautiful flagpole on the White House lawn & remind him absolutely not to hug it during thunderstorms
