From the people that brought you "We shot an Australian journalist during Black Lives Matter protests, and shot another one during ICE raid protests," comes another banger: "We shot a British born reporter during Black Lives Matter protests, and then shot him again during ICE raid protests!" 🤡

Deploying the military on U.S. soil against Americans was on page 555 of Project 2025. This was always their plan, and people voted for it anyway. America failed an open book test.

#FF5FJF2025, The Fifteenth Fiesta, is live! Like Final Fantasy 15, I'm sure you'll all have opinions about it! Let's raise money for PCRF! http://fourjobfiesta...

I don't mind roguelikes as a genre, but I don't think it's the absolute answer for games "needing" to be replayable. People play Final Fantasy V every year for charity because of its replayability. Yet the game is a singular, carefully-crafted experience. I don't think roguelikes are the only way.

i get confused when i see the opinion that people on bluesky don't get jokes. were people on twitter good at getting jokes. i don't remember that

if a single corrective lens is a "monocle", why don't we call eyeglasses "bicles"

"In 1642 in the town of Lemgo, Germany, local pharmacist David Welman was accused of witchcraft and being a werewolf. Anonymous hate mail was sent to him, one of which included this sketch."

“this is u you punk ass bitch”

why is the president the only person testing the limits of his power? everyone should see what they can get away with. what if zookeepers gave helicopters to gorillas? nobody has tried this

Google and Meta search both report that Cape Breton Island has its own time zone 12 minutes ahead of mainland Nova Scotia time because they are both drawing that information from a Beaverton article I wrote in 2024

UPDATE: David Huerta was just released from custody!

see, the thing *i’m* genuinely worried about is that RFK will effectively ban vaccines

This but also scientific papers.

If I was a democratic comms person, I would get on TV and say simply: people are in the streets because the Trump administration lied. They said they were going to deport violent criminals to make America safer, but instead they're deporting ordinary working families, making America less safe.

Protesters Urged Not To Give Trump Administration Pretext For What It Already Doing

if you haven't been teargassed or pepper balled or flashbanged maybe shut the fuck up about how to protest right

sisyphus at daily standup: i had to roll back some changes

A+ redaction game here by DOJ in complaint against SEIU leader David Huerta. I guess when you're racing to file bullshit, mistakes get made. www.documentcloud.org/documents/25... (via @meghanncuniff.bsky.social)

I want to report some good news from LA: ICE picked a hotel in Pasadena to be their headquarters for this side of the city. The residents of Pasadena (myself included) would not stand for this and protested all yesterday in front of the hotel until, eventually, the hotel kicked out ICE!!

not the main issue here but i'd really appreciate it if democratic politicians spoke out in support of big-city life and culture with the same energy and reverence that all politicians have for small towns los angeles is "real america" and so are all the other big cities the president hates

I'm sorry but expecting civilians to follow the law when law enforcement is out openly committing crimes left and right is a joke. Either we have a system here or we don't. Pick one.

Let's start by defunding this particular cop.

When people say that ”things were better back in the day,” I can only assume they're talking about 1983 frog phone

Homestar Runner is older than ICE

Do not split

🚨…WE ARE BEING TOLD THE FRONT LINE OF THE INSURRECTION HAS MOVED TO THE HOME DEPOT PAINT AISLE. MARINES SUBDUED ONE DIY HOMEOWNER WHO WAS BROWSING CEILING PRIMERS AND TWO SUSPECTED CRAFTERS CARRYING A SUSPICIOUSLY LARGE NUMBER OF BEHR PAINT SWATCHES…SUPPORT DRONES REMAIN STUCK IN THE GARDEN SECTION…

It's pretty obvious who hasn't ever been on a demonstration that "turned violent". It is always, always the police who escalate. You protest peacefully, they attack in some manner, everything turns to chaos and yeah THEN, AFTER THEY STARTED IT they can get video of some kid throwing a paving slab.

I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT LAW ENFORCEMENT IN AMERICA HAVE AGAIN AND AGAIN TOLD YOU WHAT SCARES THEM AND IT IS NOT ONE BIG PROTEST, IT IS MANY SMALLER ONES

Remember this iconic photo from Ferguson? This is Edward Crawford, throwing back a tear gas canister to protect some nearby kids. Like many identified Ferguson protesters and organizers, he was "found dead" a couple years later and neither the cops nor the media will ever investigate.

Exactly this. Go to TikTok. Look at the lives. It’s 400 people OUTSIDE LA, standing outside an ICE facility and they are making the ruling class shake. This is a sign of weakness on the part of the ruler: they are afraid and they can be stopped.

An awful story out of Mass., where ICE allegedly arrested a legal permanent resident, took him to a darkened cemetery, deactivated their body cameras, threatened to take away his green card, and then beat him up. www.nbcboston.com/news/local/w...

I think today is a good demonstration of why Trump invoking the insurrection act will be a total disaster for him, actually which isn’t to say a lot of people won’t get hurt, but it’s not going to go the way they want in the end
