Ran into several IJA/IJN reenactors in Osaka having ice cream. Traded photos of one “Hien” and a few IJN builds. #histscalemodels

Thought it was bigger. I seriously don’t think all the PE is going to fit. #histscalemodeling.

The jeep was another good illustration of the pros and cons of vehicles in 1/72. It's painstaking, even in a good model the detail is poor, and it's too small to appreciate the subject. On the positive side, this was a half day build, and once finished - it's just adorable. #histscalemodels

To commemorate the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army I built the jeep from the Academy 1/72 Light Vehicles of Allied & Axis During WWII kit. It was a fun little build, and provides a good scale for judging the relative size of other vehicles - it's not much smaller than a Panzer 1. #HistScaleModels

Are we really fucking doing this. Had nothing happened to Senator Padilla at all, what she was describing is a federal takeover of a major city by military force with no specified end-date, with no legal authority. Do not let the fascists talk their way out of that.

Just watched - OMG this is brutal, and fresh, fresh, fresh!

The StuG was my 19th completed for the year - last year was 18 total. I wanted to catch up with my stash, but so far it's a dead heat - I've added 19 as well. But this year modeling is also absolutely a way of distracting myself from the world - maybe others are finding the same. #HistScaleModels

First of the tank destroyers rolling off the line after a two-day build. For me it's not what I built - it's what I learned during the build. putteringinthestudy.com/2025/06/02/s... #HistScaleModels

Absolutely love this play. So much fun to watch them go after it.

This is deeply wrong. Also, I want it.

It’s a useful reference. No idea how crazy non-English speakers think this is.

Yes, you did vote to deport moms.

Pretty good day on the triplets. Helldiver got prior done and PE dive brakes masked & painted. Graf Spee has decks in place & the washes to darken the hull color are working well. Finally, the StuG III C/D is coming along nicely. #Histscalemodels

I am not sure how alternating planes, ships & tanks turned into building all at the same time, but somehow a Graf Spee and a StuG III made their way on the workbench this morning alongside the Helldiver. In fairness, this little Dragon StugG ought to be a one-day build. Really. #HistScaleModels

My Memorial Day build - the USS Laffey (DD-459). Finally finished my Laffey double-build. #HistScaleModels putteringinthestudy.com/2025/05/27/u...

The Academy 1/72 Helldiver is coming along - very happy how the bomb bay and payload came together. Setting aside for the moment to finish a more important project. #Histscalemodels

A fellow Scale Fundamentalist.

I feel seen. Checking to make sure this is on my profile ...

Anyone else have an internal guideline to alternate projects? Just noticed I’m trying to alternate plane, tank & ship which gives me a framework for picking what’s next - I’m only picking from a 1/3 of the stash. It’s dumb and I don’t recommend, but it does provide structure. #HistScaleModels

Did it again. Put in some time on Laffey I and couldn’t stop myself from starting another one - a new Academy Helldiver to replace an old 1967 AMT kit (shown). Probably going to finish using CV-14 markings from the Dragon kit, which I’m saving for a tricolor CV-10. #HistScaleModels
