Important news for the #envhist crowd: We are hiring an Associate Professor of Environmental History! www.jobbnorge.no/en/available... Application deadline is August 7. Some tips for those interested from abroad in thread 👇

We are hiring! Fully tenured associate professorship in environmental history! We are looking for someone who can be a strong contributor to the history group, to a new #envhum related MA program (if all goes well), and to @greenhouseuis.net. #envhist

I just discovered the "duplicate assignment" option in Canvas and WOW. I need to take a canvas training (you know in all my spare time). I can do basics, but there must be so many things that could be easier and time-saving.

This is insane.

House Democrats need to bring articles of impeachment against Kristi Noem, while Senate Democrats need to bring that chamber to a fucking halt.

You know what would make a great Father's Day gift for any dad who likes to read about boats and/or bearded men? One reviewer said: “If you can't quite afford an Antarctic cruise right now, this is the next best thing." www.bloomsbury.com/us/antarctic...

And I just submitted sample pages of the penguin book to my agent. Fingers crossed he likes them.

That was fun!

Getting ready

Tomorrow I am doing a public talk about the history of penguins! byrd.osu.edu/events/early...

A very thoughtful review of water in world history that both recommends it (yay!) and points to some absent discussions and conversations. Thank you Dario!

Guys! I found a bag of penguin Christmas ornaments at goodwill. It’s not quite the scam collection I bought on eBay during the pandemic (IYKYK) but……

So, I am substitute teaching and I have just found my dream classroom office supply. I have college students draw *all the time*

Wow. Very honored by this review from a scholar whose own work on water I deeply respect!

"I took this class thinking “what could we possibly learn in this class, it’s just water?” Turns out, I learned a lot."

Why so much grading?

*awesome* student comment on my Rome class. This class "certainly ties 'Mafia Movies' for being one of my favorite courses of my college career".

Or, instead of relying on a bullshit machine that will dry up a lake to tell you stupid lies, you could simply read a book, watch a documentary, or see a film. www.techradar.com/computing/ar...

How many of my "to do" tasks in canvas can I get through today? (I will not share number it is too awful)

That’s one hell of an exit line.

Well we definitely live in tumultuous times.

Last week of classes!!!
