6yo & I drove through #SaukCity on Saturday morning. The county went red in 2024, but not by a landslide. Not only were there a ton of folks out for #NoKings, 6 got a civics lesson and decided that she wanted to write the President a letter explaining how to be a kinder person.

Took 6yo and her friend to see #LiloAndStitch today. She loved it: “Mommy, Stitch was a complicated movie and I don’t like it because I liked it but I’m sad and I can’t stop cryiiiiiiiiiiing!!!!!!!” The movie ended 3 hours ago. She’s been sobbing for over an hour. So, yay?

Call made to Ron Johnson’s office to protest the budget. I’m estimating that I’ll get another lie filled response if I get one at all. The GOP is going after the children in poverty — all because people like RJ hate Milwaukee (read: black people) and Democrats. He said so in his last town hall.

The new Neil Halloran documentary on Smallpox has completely changed how I see the RFK Jr. version of the world. Neil (softly) argues that realizing that disease isn't the fault of the sick /or/ the fault of the Gods ushered in a new future where we felt the authority to care for each other.

This motherf--- just claimed CDC's response to the measles outbreak is the best in the world. Look, our colleagues at CDC and local health departments are doing AMAZING work in a toxic creek of an environment. But RFKJ has massively damaged the measles response. We doubt we are finding 1 in 5 cases.

Roger Marshall, M.D. (R - KS): Obstetrician asks about HHS's roll in giving vaccine recommendations. RFKJ claims ACIP and VRBAC do not give evidence-based advice. This is hot garbage. Vaccines are rigorously studied for safety. We do know the risk profile of vaccines. They are safe.

The 6yo started listening to Jim Dale’s audiobook of #HarryPotter tonight at bedtime. While we remain staunchly anti-JKR in this home, I will relish both a) how quickly she falls asleep listening to Mr. Dale & b) the sheer joy of her quickly recognizing that #Hermione carries the entire series.

To the #Marvel team: Just hire the WandaVision and Agatha All Along teams to write your emotionally intense movies. Whatever we’ve got going on now isn’t quite landing, which is a bummer because #Thunderbolts* had such potential. Still worth seeing, I think, just for the end credit scene alone.
