I don't like the presumption in a lot of discussions right now that courts are somehow not a useful way to address problems. This post is just one example. Getting a judgment about who actually has authority is the right move. It means you don't have to put human beings in a position where they are

Where do you guys find artists for your projects? I’m trying to find someone for a novel that’s extremely moody and atmospheric, so a good landscape is a must, but I also need character work and animals. Nobody does landscapes, characters, and animals??? It’s usually one of these exclusively?

What people don't get is this type of argument wouldn't just hurt creative industries, it hurts capital C capitalists, too. If we get rid of copyright, why keep trademarks or patents? Innovation is impossible to finance when you don't give the profits to those who created the innovation.

I think the people freaking out about this do not realize that using AI to listen to books is not new technology. At all. And you can do this for free on most computers, phones, tablets, etc. Most blind people listen to books with AI generated screen reader www.thebookseller.com/news/audible...
