Just a non-binary trans person trying to still do science. I only know anxiety anymore. They/She.

Evangelicals want you to believe that Old Navy is abiding by biblical law when it designates clothes as women's or men's.

I think in part the higher education funding crisis and the LLM-teaching crisis actually strike at the same problem, which is that education doesn't work without a broad, society-wide sense that the *actual content* of education - not the credential - is valuable.

gender is routines and one of the details that constrains your options a lot is what's in your dresser

I have to revamp one of my graduate level courses because students decided to use AI on all their assignments and then failed the final. 2 years ago, the final had a pretty light curve. This year? Only one person passed with an extensive curve. It's sad to watch this happen so quickly.

It's kinda cute how many people still believe there's a magical middle ground we can still electorally get to. I guess it's easier to dream when you're not a group being aggressively attacked in the present.

I don't belong.

I like and share this every time I see it because it brings happiness and the hope of a better world

Some people seem to think that if ChatGPT use corrupts the next generation’s ability to read and think, then those of us who are older and literate will benefit more from actually having those skills. With the awareness that we live in a society, I actually don’t think this will go well for anyone

the thing teenage boys need to hear more than anything else is that it is actually okay if they don't grow up to be men at all. they don't have to feel invested in the political interests of men as a class, bc they dont have to BE men. it's okay if they grow up to be women, or something else :)

every day there are new horrors for gender-marginalized people and women--trump going after the equal credit opportunity act, loss of body autonomy, exterminationist anti-trans attacks ramping up--and every single day we have to talk about "male loneliness" and "it's a brutal time to be a young man"

The biggest disappointment in my life is that I can not trust anyone. It's so isolating to recognize that our society is built on deceiving and getting one over on each other. I'm not that type of person, and it's just sad to assume everyone else is for my own survival.

One of the reasons given by Trump for defunding PBS: - PBS show Sesame Street partnered with CNN on a one-sided narrative to “address racism” amid the Black Lives Matter riots. What... was the other side... ?

Given the current state of the world, I'm not surprised parents don't like to read.

Asymmetrical warfare is the release of a lie-ridden report that the media covers as a legitimate document. And now, conservatives at work will use it to further justify their bigotry towards me.

Genuinely unbelievable how blatant the ongoing trans rights scandal is in the UK

Absolutely insane. Uneblieveable. "Sex Matters", one of the hate groups responsible for removing trans people's rights via the Supreme Court are arguing that trans people shouldn't be allowed to transition because they don't have rights and not having rights is bad. Fucking hell

the media is going to assist in making youth transgender care illegal and then they’ll move onto their next goal of making it illegal across the board. anyone going along with this is a fascist

Even for the sadistic Sex Matters, this is hideous. But they give the game away about what this is all REALLY about. The worst nightmare for people like JK Rowling is a future where trans people grow up imperceptible to c!s. Harder to mock and bully. Natch, they copy in NHS trans torturer Steeting.

The Supreme Court seems to believe that it's against the constitution to discriminate against people based on their beliefs, but completely allowable to discriminate against people based on your own beliefs.

Pb addled brains guzzling on Fox News propaganda have destroyed everything worth living for.

I do appreciate a summary of all the villainous actions this administration has taken to directly bully, harass, and abuse approximately 0.02% of the population - probably more. (7000 kids divided by 350 million USA population)

Everyone naturally conforms, or else you die.

When people break the law, and their actions are righteous and appropriate, we should applaud them. When people abide by or enforce the law, and their actions are repugnant, we should condemn them. We should never pretend the law is a moral dividing line.

Oh, so transphobes can use "they"?

You know, when I was young, I specifically wanted a partner who was independent and awesome on her own terms. I definitely didn't want someone to submit to me. Like, how fucking egotistical do you have to be to accept that as appropriate or "normal"?

If we make it out of this we have to agree that we are all going to stop pretending that MBAs have any special skills whatsoever
