The Pelican Nebula (IC5070) is ~1800 ly away in the constellation Cygnus. It is filled with dark dust clouds and glowing ionized gas. It gets its name from its resemblance to a pelican in profile, sculpted by stellar winds and ultraviolet radiation from young, massive stars. #nebulae
