My novel in progress The Sharp Judge is coming along nicely. It’s set in Düsseldorf between the years 1928 to 1945 and is in three parts: nemesis, anabasis and katabasis. It features a serial killer amongst other things, and is based on my late mother’s memories.

Jarvie has applied seven times for these awards. He obviously lacks “talent”.

First sale this month. 593 copies sold to date.

Seems about right.

Happy Bloomsday.

Sales so far this month.

Another rejection from those cunts at New Writing North. They do so despise my work.

The Mettmanner Strasse in Dusseldorf in August 1942. My grandfather’s bakery was in the same street.

Today’s purchase. A very nice copy from 1974.

Tonight’s film.

First earnings for June. A working class writer is something to be. Soon have enough money for a sausage roll.

Latest submission. Always aim for the top.

So says ChatGPT about my latest story. Who am I to disagree. Haha.

You can’t escape from the clutches of AI. So here’s some of my own work under the microscope so to speak. Thankfully none of it was created using AI, just my humble brain.

Just finished editing another student essay so if you’re in the market for proofreading and editing you know where to come. I’m also listed on findaproofreader.com

youtu.be/txRncwkLxrw One of my old YouTube videos about my book The Prison, working-class writing, Kit de Waal, Carmen Marcus and literary exclusion. And I’m sporting a lovely Gott ist tot t shirt. Good old Friedrich Nietzsche.

I cleaned the windows today.

More good news. I owe the Home Office £1300 because they overpaid me when I worked for the Passport Office in 2023. So you could always help me out by buying one of my books. Yeah, that old chestnut.

Only 10 more sales to reach another milestone. Every sale is a slap in the face for the gatekeepers who reject my work. Writing is engaging in class war.

The month so far. A working-class translator is something to be. #trakl #poetry

www.goodreads.com/author/show/... my updated profile.

Almost 600 followers? No way. Ok so I’m a working-class writer who has written six books that no one reads. I’m despised by the middle-class gatekeepers who control the UK publishing industry. You wouldn’t like me in real life. You certainly wouldn’t like my books. So why follow me?

Scores on the doors. Didn’t realise I’d hit 20,000 page reads for my six books. Should be number of sales over nine years, but I’ll take any crumbs of comfort.

Only 16 more sales and I’ll hit another milestone - 600 copies.

First sale in April. USA of course. 17 more to go.

Just heard back from the Scherz & Narr literary agency in Berlin. Their agent Ralf Olipo is confident of placing my German novel The Sharp Judge (Der Scharfrichter) with Penguin Random House. What a day to be alive. Looks like 2025 is going to be my annus mirabilis.

www.tracksdarlington.co.uk/wot-shortlists Jarvie makes the shortlist in the Memoir category.

No one reads my books so obviously it’s not worth pirating them.

Another 5 star rating on Goodreads, this time from an American professor.

All three sales this month in the USA. English people don’t read, which is a shame.

As a working-class writer my books are banned by bookshops but it’s always fun to break the rules and surreptitiously insert a copy in Waterstones every so often.
