So I set a goal a few months back to finish out all the core features of my small game within three months. And I’m happy to say that I did it! It’s still buggy and things need polish, but I managed to get all 29 of the main features done between September and December. Proud to have done it!

Did some mockups for the UI elements last night. I'm settling on a cute little "slimes-as-playing-cards" look. Also going for a squishy style to the buttons. Would love if I could get them to feel more slimey and gooey when clicked.

Went back to implementing the card mechanics. I have a simple system where players can spend mana to play cards, or they can discard them to get a little extra mana back. Also made a one-use card that can retrieve cards from the discard pile. Made for some neat deck build choices when playing!

We did the funeral yesterday. It was hard but I’ve taken my time with it and have gotten closer to processing everything. I’ll be back to regular dev posting tomorrow as a way to restore some normalcy to life. I think I just need to work on things and stay creative for a good while.
