Done! Thanks everyone who sponsored me!

It will be a hot one, but I’m ready! #moveforsight See you later!

On Sunday I will cycle 50 km to raise money to support research to prevent blindness. If you can, please sponsor me! fightingblindness.akaraisin.com/ui/MOVEFORSI...

What a game!!! #bringithome

Every year I teach a few classes. It is a lot of work, but I choose to do it (I could only do research if I wanted) because I think it is important to convey my passion about research to the next generation. And once in a while I get comments like this that make it all worthwhile! 😊

Le @reseauvision.bsky.social est fier de soutenir le développement de cette initiative de livre à colorier pour enseigner les sciences de la vision aux jeunes et moins jeunes! Quel beau cadeau à faire!

Look at this fantastic project using art to teach kids (and adults!) about the visual system! The Vision Sciences Research Network @reseauvision.bsky.social is happy to support this outreach project led by Maria and Marion!

Hi, BlueSky. It's Hillary. I've joined up here to help get the word out about an important election in Wisconsin tomorrow, and other ways to defend our democracy against those who think votes can be bought.

Now seems like a great time to share a starter pack I made when I joined BlueSky! Let me know if you'd like to be added: go.bsky.app/6aMSMpy

This kind of story coming out of the US makes me so sad and mad, both as a scientist and as the dad of a trans boy who once thought about taking his life because of these stigmas. We need data on this if we want to prevent suicide among LGBTQ+ folks!

Perfectly timed photo! 😅

Canada is amazing!!! 😍 Canada is amazing!!! 😍 Canada is amazing!!! 😍

Found heaven

Wow! Just wow. This song resonates even more in these dark times. Probably the best interpretation of sounds of silence I have ever heard! Take 2mins abd listen to this! www.instagram.com/reel/DGG5qJV...

Check out the latest paper from the Krishnaswamy lab (with a little help from us)! Very cool story, congrats to all ! www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Zarin is more and more comfortable with us, although we discovered he is scared of teens… something must have happened in his past. But slowly he is making progress and becoming more confident. What a lovely dog! #galgo #rescue

Brain conditions affect 1 in 5 Canadians. Next week, we’re launching a new federal campaign to help change that. Stay tuned… 👀 #cdnpoli #cdnhealth #Vote4BrainHealth

The SAQ in Quebec is doing the same.

🚨I promised I'd say more on the Royal Society and Elon Musk, so here it is. 🚨 I've resigned my position as Associate Editor at Royal Society's journal Open Science in protest at their lack of action over Elon Musk. My op-ed in @theguardian.com www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

🔥🤣

The boycott is strong and getting stronger every day.

Yep, I also got that message on Friday…

Someone at NIH signed this letter! WOW, I’m shocked.

Je vous recommande cet article de La Presse : Zelensky refuse le monde à l’envers lp.ca/jMQSwt?shari...

This is amazing innovation. Be prepared to see more headlines like this coming out of china instead of the US if the NIH funding freeze continues. Our entire prosperity relies on research dominance. Without it, we will no longer be the land of innovation.

Happy to share this review that @sethblackshaw.bsky.social and I wrote about temporal patterning and how these mechanisms could be coaxed to stimulate glia reprogramming and CNS regeneration! Access link below, feel free to use the figures in your talks!😊 authors.elsevier.com/c/1kfup3Q9h2...

Our new review article with @michelcayouette.bsky.social is out on temporal patterning and glial reprogramming in adult CNS, and its implications for treating degenerative diseases. All work from our lab discussed here was funded by NIH. authors.elsevier.com/a/1kfup3Q9h2...

Zarin getting used to winter in Canada…🥰

Wow! 😮 these people are using the same tricks as their orange headmaster…

Montreal this morning… we got hit by two major snow storms in 4 days. Will take a while to remove all this snow!
