Never fully clicked in my head that it was Van Morrison doing the chorus on the “Comfortably Numb” live recording they used in The Departed. I just thought about it and looked up the album. What a lineup of guests. Joni Mitchell, the Band, Cyndi Lauper, etc.

You cannot, in fact, "disenchant" Christianity. You don't have to be twee about it, but the role of good and evil spiritual beings in human life is a central concern across the New Testament and is fundamental to the gospels' presentation of Christ's victory on the Cross.

Just did a bug fix related to a frontend pull request I had made previously. Assumed the old PR was recent and was confused how the bug was happening when we haven't changed the relevant API code since last year. Turns out the old PR was from 2021. I feel rather old right now.

My toddler is obsessed with Turkish pilav, but makes a mess with it. Part of our after-dinner reading ritual is her occasionally finding a grain attached to her shirt and showing it to me while declaring "RICE", followed by eating it and saying "yummy".
