Hard to believe she didn't get a primary challenger last year.

One of the best analysts on democratic socialist politics in the country today says this 👇🏽

This is what the Paper of Record™ chose to publish for the 10th anniversary of Obergefell archive.ph/AqDLU

This kind of shit is, in its own way, Holocaust trivialization. It's hard not to find it morally revolting.

Free parking=Abundance Free buses=insanity

If I may be a contrarian here I'd argue that the victory of a democratic socialist is not "like a spiritual Kristallnacht."

My Instagram feed suddenly changed from all Spanish learning content to every Zohran post he ever made. (And I kept watching them because they are good) I wonder if that’s because of a surge of general interest, a surge from my friends, or because I peeped the profile of the video maker

I'm sorry New Yorkers chose not to indulge your deranged hallucinations, but we have a city to win

Schumer first, obviously, but we need to get rid of Gillibrand too. New York deserves feminist senators, not…. ours

again, more than 40% of Cuomo's 2025 endorsers called on him to resign four years ago and I think it's incredibly important to recognize the breadth of cowardice from the current political class and the depth of courage of the women who stood up to him, like @lindseyboylan.bsky.social.

i think, unfortunately, that this may be my masterpiece

“It takes a lot to pull one over on New Yorkers, and when we looked around, the city described in Cuomo attack ads simply did not exist. We recognize that the city’s problems come mostly from the people above, and not the ones sitting next to us on the subway.”

one of the really remarkable things about America's court theocracy is that there's a total lack of accountability - no interviews, no press appearances, no elections, no actual Congressional oversight, a completely bankrupt system.

Honestly, this made me laugh out loud (maybe it was more of a horrified cynical rattle). Points for honesty!

That sentence is so insane

So when does Gristedes close

Love too reinvent antisemitism from first principles.

How did we as a society decide that we’re going to solve FOR problems, not solve them? This is not even how the term is used in math! Solving for a problem just means figuring out what the problem is – not solving it!

"But we *feel* unsafe, no matter what the reality is" sums up so many of the problems in our politics today. It's why Cuomo was almost able to get away with his fear mongering about the subway, for example, or why people with almost no experience with immigrants or trans people vote the way they do.

schumer notably doesn’t say congratulations in this statement that reads more like a republican begrudgingly conceding. i hope brad lander primaries him.

we’re about to find out if loving SimCity makes you a better mayor Mamdani was asked in 2002 by NY Mag what he wanted for Christmas and said SimCity 3000

as a jew, i feel relieved and vindicated that cynical fearmongering about israel did not win this election for a sex creep and grandma killer, a win which would have been declared ‘on my behalf’ and which i and most of my fellow jews did not want

The trouble with "The Democratic primary for NYC Mayor has nothing to do with Israel-Palestine" is that the pro Israel side did everything they could to make it about Israel-Palestine.

i was actually crying outside a bar in astoria when i typed this lmao calm down diva

Maybe, but I would ask who did this more in the run up to yesterday and why?

This is a really smart point about "experience" from @besttrousers.bsky.social, presented as a screenshot of a thread for readability

"it is crucial to observe who played 9/11 Politics against Zohran. Who made a deliberate point of trying to make Jews like me hate and fear Zohran. It was DoorDash, Bloomberg, Ackman, Karp, and the rest. It was capital." www.forever-wars.com/this-is-the-...

Always obsessed with how the family living in the Commandant's House in the Navy Yard can turn their whole district one color, this time just one of them voted for Brad Lander in the primary

Schumer is gone.

I love ranked choice voting so much.

post livestream link coward

Best city in the world, baby!

I'm not gonna pretend to be an NYC political consultant but if you're the kind of Dem that hates the DSA I have some advice for next time: don't get behind a piece of shit like Cuomo.

gillibrand really comes out looking like one of the biggest pieces of shit in american politics here, having repudiated literally every good thing she has ever done in her career over the past six months

Yeah, don’t think I have ever been more disgusted by a politician. I used to vigorously defend her against Franken apologists only for her to decide that a much, much worse sexual harasser THAT SHE PREVIOUSLY DEMANDED RESIGN wasn’t worth opposing when he was attempting to make a comeback.
