My nephew called. His dad, my brother, died early last week at an advanced age from clearly obvious physical issues, and his kids did literally nothing to prepare for it. I sympathized but told him he has to deal with it. That's his job now. If your parent is old and sick, prepare for the end.

My brother died on Monday night, and I only found out because my nephew's wife decided to tell me by-the-by. My sisters and I, the surviving siblings, have heard literally nothing since then. A funeral? A memorial service? No idea. My brother's weirdness I guess he passed on to his children.

I just learned that my brother has a couple days left on this earth. He's over in Petoskey under hospice care now. My other brother is a Trump MAGA and has cut himself off from me and the other non-Trumpers in the family. We have no way to contact him about this. Trump has ruined everything.

If you serve your time, the sentence passed down by a judge, and you complete that sentence to the very day, you should have your citizenship rights restored. States that don't do that are punishing people for life, not just for the sentence imposed by a judge. #justice
