We're having a pride month game day at ASL tonight and I redid my purple for it!

Media of the month so far: Video games: Elias and I have been playing Planet Crafter; it's a base building game where you terraform an unlivable planet. TV: I've been rewatching Doctor Who. Starting at the 9th doctor, currently on Season 4, Fires of Pompeii

Some of my fave LGBTQIA+ books! Magic's Pawn - Gay male magic user. TWs: Suicide in the first book, SA in the third The Priory of the Orange Tree - sapphic fantasy Monk and Robot - nonbinary cozy fantasy

Happy pride! I hope to see an abundance of queer and trans joy in my friends and community this month and always. Always, but especially this year, remember: Trans women are women and nonbinary genders are valid. Protect trans kids this pride month!

In a bit of a reading slump. Time to reread Beyond, one of my favorite Valdemar novels.

Whovian friends! What's the best way to engage with the classic and non-show DW content? I found classic who on britbox (with limited episodes, since so many were lost), but there are so many books, audio dramas, etc. I've watched Torchwood but not the Sarah Jane Chronicles.

Rewatching doctor who. Currently starting with the 9th doctor but I might loop back and get arch classic who after. "The doctor is a legend woven throughout history."

most places burying the lead but BACK ON PBS running day and date!!!

Disabled people are not expendable. Disabled people are not lazy. Disabled people are not “choosing” to be sick. Disabled people deserve healthcare, social supports & accommodation. These are not controversial concepts. Ableism & health supremacy tell you otherwise. Fight with us. Fight for us.

(I know that’s actually not a permanent solution and pretending bad things aren’t happening is not a great survival strategy in the long run, but there was nothing I could do about it now.)

this is a letter to the editor from a high school track runner who came in second to a trans girl in a race. her state house rep in maine started talking about it. so she wrote this: www.pressherald.com/2025/05/14/r...

An incredible read from @theverbalthing.com featuring our beloved @quinnntastic.bsky.social talking about their experience playing Citlalli on The Second Stranger! 🌟 Fat people belong in all genres — in all mediums — in all stories — and in all art. Our liberation is always intertwined.

My baby, my baby

Ordered some family pictures as magnets as part of a father's day gift. They turned out perfectly, but it was hard to set down the one of Ginger. My baby, my baby.

finished my 100th read of the year! going to take some time to enjoy video games, but I think the poppy war is next on my list after that

Duolingo is replacing employees with AI.

I know there's been a lot of chatter about Duolingo replacing human made lessons with AI, but pulling mechanics from gacha games is a new one.

Trying to make steps towards further inclusivity for our ASL game days. Picked up colorblind accessible qwirkle (tile placement game) and uno and braille standard playing cards and uno cards.

cw: pet loss, grief Thoughts of Ginger often drift through my days, landing lightly, leaving quickly. Today they were a tide, rising up suddenly and dragging me out to sea. I miss her so much. Hug your pets close. Tell them you love them.

burning my hand the night before interpreting and a Deaf chat is...not ideal

Hello friendos Your librarian here with a tip Ditch Duolingo and their AI and use your library card to access Mango or Rosetta at your library. You can also check out language CDs and DVDs, as well as books, phrase books, dictionaries and e-resources.

Duolingo will replace contract workers with AI www.theverge.com/news/657594/...

I can't respect anyone who sees empathy as a weakness.

Good Night World

PSA for all Canadians: I voted early last week in Ontario and it was one of the biggest lineups I've ever seen for elections. If you're going today make sure to bring a snack! 😀

I’ve said it before, but it is so heartbreaking watching the accommodations created during the pandemic—better wfh, hybrid conventions & conferences, online events, strict masking rules, etc—just disappear. It’s part of a pattern, where these things are only created when abled folk need them also.

I forgot my tamagotchi at home and my mom sends me messages like "why did you abandon your child? Grandma (*she means herself) is taking care of it now" AND NOW SHE IS PLAYING WITH IT WHILE I'M AT WORK AND SENDS ME UPDATES HELP

hey bookish friends!! don't do this!!

Recently started playing Sun Haven. If anyone else plays, do you have any tips? Or want to try multiplayer sometime? I'm in early Summer 1. It's on sale for $15 on steam right now for anyone who wants to give it a try!

Little book frog is just happy to be here 🐸📚

also anne and diana are sapphic!! and I'm mad that they aren't together!!

I've been really enjoying Anne With An E on Netflix but never read the Green Gables series! Does anyone have any thoughts on it? Is it worth the read?

I've been watching Anne With An E and been pleasantly surprised by the amount of LGBT+ and PTSD representation

Just sayin
