I'm just a marketing guy. I also may have opinions on tech, sales, the creator economy, sustainability, AI, brand strategy, design, or foreign policy. In that order.

I think it's clear that makes so AI scary isnt the tech, but the context: It comes as the US worker today is underpaid, non unionized and under-protected, doesn't have great healthcare or benefits, and while the income inequality is already so great and growing. Any disruption presents great risk.

Listening to friends--vet, doctor, lawyer, chef, architect-- explain why they HATE their jobs is eye-opening to me. I love my job. I always have. Sure, there's some not-great parts, and many marketing jobs I have turned down over the years, but I'll forever love the art and craft of marketing.

What ICE is doing in our city to our neighbors, is wrong. As are we for remaining silent. I support deporting those here illegally who commit serious crimes--not day laborers or women sewing shirts. Deporting people who have done noting but try to make a life for themselves is morally corrupt. 1/7

Yeah. Thinking abt this a lot because corporate blogs SUCK and need to die first. But slowly. SEO optimized listicles and keyword dense tutorials come next with no personality or POV. What survives? Ppl telling real stories, not just answering questions. Knowledge-rich posts (at least once). 1/3

It's not that liquid glass is in beta and won't ship like this, or that Jobs wouldn't come back to chuck a pen at someone's head if it did, it's that: 1. I don't know why I want to see through the interface in the first place?! What does it add? and 2. Is Apple just an iPhone stock at this point?!

Paging @lindseygamble.bsky.social: You wrote the Reddit change to obfuscate post and comment history *could* encourage participation and 'improve transparency' and trust. I fear the opposite is true. It just makes it hard to tell if you are talking to a person or AI bots. Sunlight is transparency.

You have the right to remain silent. Don't.

Influencer campaigns fail when we treat them like every other MKTG channel: Good influencers know their audiences, and want to give us guidance on the best way to sell our products. Problem is, brands & agencies like me think we know the customer better and so we don't want to listen to the help.

Elon & Trump is about the greatness we've earned, yall

The mental health toll of 3 jobs is real: these are folks with a public persona, who have the pressures of running a biz and engaging sponsors, and ON TOP OF THAT wake up with the stress of producing content in a sea of lookalikes and copycats where everything is changing. Walk with me. 1/5 🧵

Politically, the last 4 months have been the longest 4 years of my life.

As someone who played lacrosse, I think it's a beautiful game. As a marketer, I think we should stop requiring a unique, 110 yard long rectangle and switch to playing on the same 100 yard football field every high school in America has already. 100 makes the game faster... and for everyone.

What's roblox?Youtube for video games. Brands can build something that some of the 400M kids under 16 can interact with in a game and (hopefully) create future customers. Bold prediction: The addition of AI game creation (on roblox, in-browser, on TV like netflix) is the next frontier for brands.

They are absolutely not. I don't care if only you and @ghoulas.bsky.social get to see this, but we're out here throwing hands and righting wrongs, fam. When you factor in the cost of the "printer" & the need for specialized labor to level, calibrate & clean, 3d printing is MUCH more expensive. 1/4

I bet when Jesus fed the crowds via miracle there was some bread and fish market guys who complained about market share being destroyed.

I don't give two !@#$ about the A's, but as a marketer this kills me. If they woulda' made Sac A's merch and embraced the city, Sacramento would love them back, even if their owner is holding a big city hostage and MLB is too spineless and greedy to put a stop to it. www.sfgate.com/athletics/ar...

"natural gas" is hall-of-fame great marketing. It's methane. You burned millions of year old hydrocarbons -- dino farts -- in your house to get a few crispy marks on your Oscar Meyer.

The good news about battery tech today is they are very energy dense. They are light, small, and can be packed with electrons. The bad news is they are very energy dense. They are light, small, and when/if they fail... can pack a huge boom. Via Autocar in the UK: www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/ele...

Went to go see Libby on my birthday. Looking a bit tarnished these days, but still standing.

ppl saying this is political suicide are missing the point: A split now allows them to play both sides - Libs can openly acknowledge climate change and try and win back the cities, and Nats can pretend science isn’t real and pander to farmers. Next election they can kiss & still form a government.

The return of shotguns and antitank rifles, wooden trench fortifications and donkeys. motorbike infantry. 60 year old tanks modified into rolling siege towers stuffed with electronic warfare gadgets. Weaponised jet-skis and thermal-cam FPV with predator-vision. The age of Cyberblyat war is here.
