Okay maybe I should put something else here. Hi! I duno what to put here. Uh, there will be wildlife stuff, craft stuff, photos, ramblings?, my cat, yard plants, bugs that sit still enough for me to photograph them, maybe screaming into the void.

Feed cleanse brought to you by Floofy and Fuzzy AKA our newly hatched white-naped crane chicks being raised by doting parents Cal and Laura.

Attempting to make some, subpar wooden hoops look less subpar. ...I have a fear that the paint will leech into the fabric...

I feel called out.... But it's true. The ragweed could calm it down some tho.

One of the coolest birds seen during the Hawaii trip. And there were LOTS OF THEM.

Poked the yard after putting some flowers in the polinator garden. And I found what is one of the neatest, and maybe hardest to find insects. It's a walking stick!!!!!

DAY NINE OF THE SUBATHON STARTS NOW AND WE ARE LEARNING HOW TO BAKE WITH MAMA ENCHILADA!!! 🤩 Come hang! twitch.tv/AdaEnchilada

TOAD!

Chocolate flower in the wild!!! The big bushy one was at Bosque del Apache visitor center parking lot. The one in a pot is a yard flower...which might need a bigger pot, or just go straight into the ground since they like crap soil.

Possibly the last WIP Wednesday for this piece! It's pretty much done! I need to do a little bit of backstitching, but I really like how this turned out! Done on 14count Aida cloth with 2 strands of thread. The pattern is by @lolacrow.bsky.social #crossstitch #embroidery

A giant among peeps.

Happy Pride Month!!! 🏳️‍🌈

Update: crimes have been committed. I cannot work under these conditions.

Threads go here at some point.

I think this may be my next embroidery project! I've wanted to try it for a while but keep getting pulled into cross stitch

Yard is full of round lizards. There are also more lizard sized holes around. Yard soon to be swamped with itty bitty lizards?

Happy world Otter day Wait Wrong animal Yes his name is Otter, but he is a house gremlin. He rolled over onto his back and had his paws up by his face and that reminded me of a sea otter. So his government name is Otter, but he has many names.

It's #WIPWednesday on an actual Wednesday! I think I'm at the halfway point on this! This is the biggest piece I've done so far. In the end it will measure 8.9x7.5 inches. #Crossstitch #embroidery

Sunday #stunday "Otter" Thread painting - hand embroidery artwork. #WorldOtterDay #WildlifeArt #embroidery

Hi, Moea! 👋 Happy #WorldOtterDay 🦦 Moea is a Southern sea otter, who came to the Zoo after being rescued from an oil spill. Calm and confident, she plays well with Clara and Libby and loves her food – especially mussels, with crab coming a close second.

Southern ground hornbill Hank's got a brand new bag! After a bit of exploring, he found the “groceries” inside— his morning snacks. Enrichment like this stimulates zoo animals' natural behaviors in unique and fun ways. 🎥: Zookeeper Murphy

SIR...

"HEY look at this cool thing I found/made!" Is pretty much me & my content. Don't set people's joys on fire.

Why TALL??? They're strawberries, I'm used to them being way closer to the ground. Some of the leaves have fallen over, but a lot are straight up in the air.

A little late for #WIPWednesday but here's the current project so far. I think working block by block is working, although my workspace is a hot mess. #Crossstitch

Happy international day of biodiversity! 🌿🐛🐞🐜🪲

Quoting with an animal that's you

Got some caterpillars on the cauliflower! Unsure if I'll actually get cauliflower from these guys, but I got them mostly for the white butterflies that kept showing up last year. Didn't have food for their caterpillars last year and oddly felt bad.

Bumblebee! Pretty recognizable as far as insects go. This one was gigantic, possibly a queen since this was early spring. She's attempting to go after some cat mint, and weighing down some of the mint. Still manages to feed on the flowers, even from the ground. #WorldBeeDay

Another itty bitty bee! I think this one is on a red birds in a tree plant, which has been thriving and I'm looking forward to it flowering anytime now. #WorldBeeDay

A very small bee (maybe a sweat bee) on a rocky mountain bee plant. Trying to get some of the bee plant to grow in the yard, I duno if it's working. This was at the Randall Davey Audubon Center & Sanctuary. This plant had a lot more than bees on it. #WorldBeeDay

Descriptions will be very similar. Mostly 'look at this bee on this flower' because I'll be damned if I'm getting photos of them in flight.

Today is World Bee Day. Now, honey bees are neat BUT. Do you know what is also neat and gets way less attention? Native bees. Bee diversity, it's more than just honey bees. So I'm gonna try to look for bee pictures. Some flies or wasps may show up, because I'm not great at IDs.

One of the best yard birds. Wish they were less skittish tho.

Paws off endangered wildlife habitat! A new proposal would allow companies to destroy critical habitat for endangered species. But like us, animals need homes to survive. Today is the deadline to comment! Make your voice heard: www.oregonzoo.org/news/take-ac...

This is a chocolate flower. It's native to the southwest US and northern Mexico. And yes, it does have a chocolate fragrance. I may need like 10 more.

I need a pin, a sticker and a plush!!! (the first two I can at least back, the plush may be a dream)

Doodle of a sun bear from, some time ago. It was for a Zootober, a variation on inktober focused around animals. I don't remember if this made it beyond a sketch. #EndangeredSpeciesDay

Digging into the art folders for some variety. Here's a pair of red panda keychains I made way back in 2017. Creating art is one of my favorite ways to show off endangered critters aside from photos, if I can manage it. #EndangeredSpeciesDay

Today is #EndangeredSpeciesDay! I'll try and share a few critters that are awesome, but also in need of some extra help to not become extent. First up is the ʻIʻiwi, a Hawaiian honey creeper. I was lucky enough to see these birds during my only visit to Hawaii. Hopefully I'll see more next time.

Just got word of Moshu's passing at the Oregon Zoo. He was a very good red panda. I'm glad I managed to see him chilling on one of his platforms on my last visit to the zoo. It's weird not living so close anymore, where your last visit could be the last time you see any of the zoo residents.

Next cross-stitch adventure! A cute lil forest stump, with a surprise coming soon! Pattern is by Nathnolu (on Instagram). #crossstitch #embroidery

dusting off bluesky to share a current WIP I'm really excited about! #AmericanKestrels #RaptorResearch
