Short lived if the answer was presented by an AI.

Figure (ahem 🤦‍♂️🙄) painting is underway for my little diorama and I have got another project sorted for later this year…

Some of my goto glues for dioramas. Gorilla Grab Adhesive (£12) seems to do a good job, says it's not good with Polypropylene (PP) or Polyethylene (PE). Araldite is a favourite (£9.60), bonds a lot of materials. The contact adhesive has solvents, which has a negative impact with some plastics.

Building up some terrain. I don't bother buying foam for sculpting like some Youtubers do (they are sometimes advertising the stuff). I have a box full of foam packaging I have collected for years, costs nothing. I use plaster bandages to cover it.

So I'm back to developing the Thunderbirds Mole diorama. I created a method of sliding it onto a strip of wood which is screwed to the base. Less permanent and in thoery I could change the building easily. The wood split, but it's secure with the other two screws.

BBC Archive video about the UK computer games business in 1984. Features the collapse of Imagine and the success of Ocean. Plus some piracy. youtu.be/buuUZFh_pyk?...

Fun little Hasegawa egg plane has had final assembly and a flat coat. Not historically accurate as it shouldn't have the shark mouth, but who builds a P-40 without the shark mouth? Few little touch ups and some aerial rigging and she's finished. #Histscalemodels

Well, #HistScaleModel friends … I got there … sort of. A few details to finish/tidy but I’m calling this done. I enjoyed the internal aspects of this Avenger project but not terribly impressed with this Academy model. Tricky instructions and no folding wings. Onwards! #ScaleModels

Attached the canopy to the fuselage. #archive #papercraft #Spitfire #scalemodel #histscalemodels

Built the canopy. The "glass" is vacuum shaped plastic, all the frames are from paper. #archive #pspercraft #Spitfire #scalemodel #histscalemodels

Brewster Buffalo on a jungle raid over Burma, early 1942. This is the Airfix 1:72 vintage classic kit - old but still a very nice build! modelart.tardate.com/projects/raf... #histscalemodels #72scale #scalemodels

#histscalemodels #P-40 The Hasegawa P40K is a 1995 molding, but is much less expensive. The Eduard surface detail is MAGNIFICENT & well worth the price IMO!🙂 I LOVEthis Ed kit! So much detail! My only beef: Some parts are just to tiny, nav lights are shavings tiny! I just painted them 🙄

I woke up very early this morning, and had some unexpected bonus bench time to finish the rigging on this Boeing P-26. #HistScaleModels

Latest off the bench: 1/72 StuH 42 Ausführung G, version is StuG Abteilung 237, Vitebsk (Belarus), November '43. Kit was a MiniArt one, a tad over engineered with 200 pieces and tons of PE. Figures are from HäT. #histscalemodels

1/35 #Tamiya A34Comet. This tank named "Celerity" was the tank that knocked out the Tiger 1 of Oberleutnant Fehrmann in April '45,and 2 days later was involved in the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.... #scalemodels #histscalemodels

These Panorama letraset action pictures were mentioned on The Footage Detectives today on Talking Pictures TV. I remember this Deep Sea one, I thought they were fantastic. As a kid you could invent your own story for it.

Finished the BF109E-4 and it joins the Bugatti 100 in a 1940s dogfight over Germany.

Hold on, there was a BBC series in the 1970s called Model World!??! I went to a boarding school for a few years in the 70s, and there was limited TV access and of course no means of recording it. Must have missed it. 10 episodes apparently. youtu.be/ItRnBVTkN-8?...

I think I’ve pretty much finished the raw metal finish for the Land Rover bodywork. I’ve treated the bulkhead and frame differently to the panels to differentiate the types of metal. Next will be several layers of chipping fluid and shades of blue for the look I’m after #scalemodels #scalemodelling

That would be awful. Don’t share this.

#OTD in 1944. In preparation of the invasion of North-West Europe. WAAFs repairing and packing airborne parachutes. Red: ammunition, yellow: communication equipment. #WW2 #HISTORY

I think I'm nearly there. Any thoughts? #histscalemodels

Something spicy & delicious as a taco has gotten under Trumplestiltkin's thin tangerine skin. Seems the master of mean, juvenile nicknames can dish them out but when directed towards him, he can't take it, angrily calling it "nasty."🤣 Good to know. (you know what to do!) 🌮🌮 🌮🌮 🌮🌮 🌮🌮 🌮🌮 🌮🌮 🌮🌮 🌮🌮 🌮

Decal time. Gloss varnish.☑️ Decals Gloss varnish Panel lines and some dirt Matt varnish and some other dirt Matt varnish Done.

Not sure if this counts as a #histscalemodels but I’m done I think. Not 100% happy with the braid but the hair and face went better than expected

"Houston, we have a gap" Something needs trimming.

So the airbrushing generally went OK. A slight accident on the tail under the horizontal stabilsers. But in general some touching up with a brush should do. I'm thinking the grey is a bit light? But I think I will leave it. A dog fight with a Bugatti 100 is fiction, so I'm not to bothered.

Painting the yellow nose and rudder on the BF 109. This is going to take some time. 🙄

Finished this little model the other day, Fujimi Chibi-Maru Yamato. #histscalemodels #scalemodels #yamato #shipmodel

The gun platform is complete. Scratch built with wooden coffee stirrers, plastic card and strip, brass strip and a lot of swearing. First time I’ve used a spirit level on a model kit. Platform removed now for painting separate to the wagon…just need to fit the wagon doors #histscalemodels

Tiny break from figures...back to core of my modelling:) planes:) Decided to check a tip by @spencerpollard.bsky.social on how to paint yellow. And yes, it just works! Thanks, Spencer!:)

Theese just made my day 😄 Even if I never got to play with them I would love to paint some giant snails 🐌

At a model show at the De Havilland museum. Amazed at the real size and the miniatures.👍 #histscalemodels

A little easter egg in the window of one of the flats to be used as the background of the Thunderbirds Mole model.

Nevermind airplanes you'd accept as a bribe. What about ones you'd regard as a threat?

Who could've guessed joining a make-believe Resistance against an Evil Empire would ever happen in real life?

Tie downs done. Few odds and sods then it's ready for a long range patrol.

Progress on both projects. The mottled camo on the BF109 is my first ever attempt at such camo style. My airbrush is a general purpose Sparmax and isn't ideal for detailed work without masking. So the result is quite large mottling.

We should be ashamed of ourselves for not appreciating him breaking the law. ✈️ 💰 🙏
