Yesterday's four-hour Dynamite was a weak effort. I think AEW is heavily relying on putting popular wrestlers on TV and is failing to give them a meaningful purpose for being on TV. I don't think any match showed a wrestler's best effort or elevated them, intentionally or otherwise. Filler. 🤼

While Fulham and the Jaguars are certainly a contributing factor, it's also an exaggeration by the fanbase (encouraged by TK himself). During Premiere League/NFL season, TK is still responsible for booking. He is still there every week. He still personally approves everything.

Love that so many AEW fans feel excited to be AEW fans again. But it also feels like we're whitewashing parts of the past several years from memory to do so. Tony Khan has a lot of poor booking tendencies. It's not surprising a lot of fans see AEW's positives as happening despite TK.

Despite a bit of initial awkwardness, the back and forth with Toni was Mercedes' best promo work since she joined AEW. It felt natural, fun. In the ring with the right person, she lets go of her WWE trappings and you see her art. This was the first time I saw that outside the ring (on TV). 🤼 #AEW

Loved Thekla's debut. Was very impactful. But it absolutely deserves to be criticized that after WEEKS of teasing, Thekla's debut was lightning fast and she got no promo time. Dinner before Double or Nothing and our waiter saw our Hangman shirts and we talked about the show. He eventually asked us about tickets and we mentioned they were crazy affordable, he walked off looking at his phone after. Between word of mouth and ticket pricing AEW seems in a good spot. 🤼 #AEW

Tonight's Dynamite had over 70 minutes of in-ring action. It's the second Dynamite in April to deliver that much wrestling and the third in 2025. The other Dynamite to have over 70 minutes of wrestling was in the back half of March. I think this is why some fans are feeling like AEW has momentum.
