Labour doesn’t need to pander to the right. Its most popular policies are actually the most progressive. Here are the 5 I’d never stop shouting about: (and how well they poll with the public)

Labour racked up the wins this week. Lots of new initiatives that just make sense (and make the country safer and greener in particular). 6 things you might have missed:

Labour is doing a wealth tax. But instead of a one-off hit, it’s rolling out a series of measures to make the richest pay their fair share. 5 examples:

That press conference was the most disgraceful act of betrayal I’ve ever seen.

You can hate the toadying and the fake compliments to the fascist in the White House but this is nothing but a triumph for Keir Starmer, David Lammy and ultimately for Britain and Ukraine. And that’s all I care about.

Greed over planet , every time . Help me force a Parliamentary debate in the UK on banning fossil fuel ads . Billions of $$$ are spent currently influencing politicians , decision makers and the public , allowing these companies to continue in their destruction .

I’d feel a lot safer and more confident and less frightened right now if Britain was still part of the EU. Just sayin.

The Labour government has been busy pursuing popular policies, and improving the lives of some of the poorest. But polls suggest many think they haven’t achieved much. Stephen MacNair goes into the issues they have been tackling. How good is the record?

Ok so Trump won again, Musk is buying up democracy, media is overdosing on Farage and Tory sour grapes… BUT We kicked the Tories out, the right is split, Brexit hovers over the shredder, Trump and Musk will trip up over their monstrous egos and we moved to Bluesky. There’s always hope. Cheers all🎄🥂

Keir Starmer's Government has just appointed Baroness Margaret Hodge as its new "Anti Corruption Champion". Hodge last week backed calls for Starmer to close the loophole allowing foreign billionaires like Elon Musk to bankroll British politicians bylinetimes.com/2024/12/06/k...

“Some 56% of farmland bought in 2023 was sold to landowners who were not working farmers. The revenue per acre is too low to warrant the purchase, unless you are extremely wealthy and are avoiding inheritance tax” 🚜🌾 vs. 🧐💰

There is something at the heart of this story that doesn’t add up, legally speaking. Quick fraud lecture for y’all. 🧵

In truth, every single major piece of legislation ought to be this somberly undertaken, this well attended, this carefully considered, and this passionately, but cordially, argued. If our elected chamber can be what we witnessed today, why can't it all the time?

“This is beginning to really f*** me off." Feargal Sharkey is back testing rivers for toxins, and he’s far from impressed by what he’s found in the River Wylye.

Embarrassing lightweight alert! At PMQs, Badenoch - leader of the Opposition - tries to assert that a rightwing/Musk/foreign-bot-boosted online petition is reason to call a general election. And in so doing, showily slides the grubby remnants of her credibility and dignity into the bin.

Wow, the UK's leading citizen journalism network is just about to hit 50k followers on Bluesky, can we do this today? Please share and lets make this happen!

Average annual energy bill to rise by £21 to £1,738 from January. One of the highest prices in the world. No curbs on profiteering - oil, gas, energy companies making record profits, fueling poverty, business costs. Profiteers also get public subsidies. www.theguardian.com/money/2024/n...

Echo chamber my arse. When I go to the pub for a quiet drink I sit with a couple of good friends and we have a nice chat. I don't feel the need to take a couple of racist twats to have them call me a cunt all evening for a bit of balance. Twitter can get fucked.

Keep seeing references to UK food security. Since the mid-19th century UK food security has meant the ability to keep the sea lanes open and imports flowing in. Not the ability to produce domestic needs at home.

Nice to know there is a word for my morning routine.

What a refreshing change it is, after ditching the hell hole, to be able to follow people here and then actually see their posts in my feed.

The very least a social media platform should do is allow you to curate your own account, choose your people, engage without fear of abuse, block who you want… Musk took away our agency while pretending to champion free speech. No. Free speech includes the right to turn away. That’s what we’ve done.

If you know that the problem is the billionaires. Not the immigrants, disabled people, woke people, left lawyers, train drivers or whoever else the billionaires are trying to blame today. RT and let everyone know
