The privilege of being straight is that you never have to look for these symbols. You don’t have to wait for someone to clock you or your partner, and wait to see how they’ll react. It is easy when you’ve had that privilege to eye-roll about symbolism and how unnecessary it feels…

Couldn’t agree with this more- superb article from the ever inspiring @samgibbs.bsky.social

I've published the next in my series of free webinars. This one is on 11th June and it's about adaptive teaching. Please share! Thank you. www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-ultima...

shit that always strikes me as obsessive on social media: - "why don't you follow me/why have you unfollowed me?" - reposting your own jokes like they matter - giving a crap about "tweet theft" etc - trying to do "numbers" - strategically trying to build your "audience" (narcissist/grift alert)

Heads: "We may not be showered with glittering rewards & financial bonuses, but we have changed lives for the better, often with generational positive impact - a kind of purpose that is a privilege & that is powerful." @keziah70.bsky.social in @tesmagazine.bsky.social: www.tes.com/magazine/lea...

Agree entirely with this piece- we need stability, not a conveyor belt of ministers. ‘More than ever, what education needs is long-term strategy shaped by those on the front line. Only through sustained, stable leadership can we secure meaningful and lasting improvement in our education system.’

In my @schoolsweek.bsky.social OpEd piece, I argue why Labour must back Bridget Phillipson — and why stable leadership is key to real change in schools. schoolsweek.co.uk/continuity-a...

Teacher pay deal questions out on @TeacherTapp today. We’ve tried to keep the wording the same as in previous years, and mention the funding picture (as know this often matters more than the %). Should give early indication of sentiment compared to the strike year.

#FridayFive is singing songs round the camp fire. Vibes fine. Loose rules this week. 1. Pocahontas. Neil Young. 2. Blue Shadows on the Trail. The Three Amigos. 3. Redemption Song. Bob Marley. 4. Wide Open Spaces. The Dixie Chicks. 5. Whiskey in the Jar. Traditional but Thin Lizzy best version.

Amazing article from the ever brilliant @keziah70.bsky.social Not only is she one of the most fierce, ethical and generous leaders I know she also hasn’t aged a day in the ten+ years I’ve known her! (😘)

Headship is amazing, you change lives. Proud of this article even if the picture is awful! www.tes.com/magazine/lea...

Finding this hard to believe really, very honoured. Thanks so much to everyone who has trusted me over the past few years. SEND support is such a huge issue and glad it’s being recognised. Normal reporting service resumes when I’m back at my desk later this year

Conservatives in Parliament livid teacher pay announcement won't come until this afternoon (22 May) STRB publication dates in previous years... 29 July 2024 13 July 2023 19 July 2022 21 July 2021 21 July 2020 22 July 2019 24 July 2018

Our most amazing chief reporter @samanthajbooth.bsky.social HAS WON the specialist journalist of the year at the Press Awards A truly phenomenal achievement. She beat off journalists reporting on war with her *amazing* journalism exposing the SEND crisis So well deserved

Edition 395 of @schoolsweek.bsky.social done and dusted Everything you need to know about today's pay announcement @jackydys.bsky.social on high needs funding woes Plus @johndickenssw.bsky.social long-read on the backlash to government SEND thinking Subscribe: schoolsweek.co.uk/subscribe-to...

@bphillipsonmp.bsky.social has delivered for teachers. School and trust leaders can make this work!

🚨This is a HUGE escalation and a deliberate effort to use the government against Trump's enemies. Weaponizing the Student and Exchange Visitor Program certification against Harvard to punish them for pushing back is a new low — and needlessly punishes thousands of innocent students.

Education has seen pay decline, funding decline ever since 2010

If we care about the future of our children, we need a library & a librarian in every school, to help every child find the books that will make them readers. Libraries & librarians change children's lives FOREVER - and they're more vital now than ever! #libraries #librarians #literacy

Primary schools have a huge role to play. We need to teach digital literacy. Enable them to “think with care” (Laura Knight). Preparing them to use keyboards - how many words can pupils type per a minute? @inspiringsw.bsky.social @celtacademies.bsky.social
