I write, fool around with mixed-media, and try to stop the cat from drinking paint water. I love cozy things and wear a lot of black.

#Italy you can be proud of Lucio. A prince of a poet.

Kaarija and Baby Lasagna win Eurovision!

Right. I’m a mother and my own mother is dead and this French Eurovision song is leaving me cold.

What I enjoy about Portugal in Eurovision is that they just keep right on being unapologetically Portugal.

I’m Not Okay with these results, #Eurovision. Repeat. Not Okay.

Eurovision 2025 = giant glasses and no shirts

Getting ready for Eurovision Semi 2 - if Finland, Lithuania, and Czechia don’t qualify I am going to go out into my quiet, suburban, American street and riot.

Poland’s Eurovision staging freaks me out - just a little bit.

Honestly, Lucio Corsi is too good for Eurovision.

That’s it. We need to put an end to all televote Eurovision semi-finals.

No Cyprus in the Eurovision final?!?! Noooooooooo!

I’m trying to figure out what to wear to the launch of an anthology in which I have a story. I asked Pinterest and it suggests pleated khaki pants, white button down, and suspenders. A 1980s Karen Blixen? A hobbit? May opt for black.

I keep writing this novel. And writing and writing and writing. But it just won’t die.

Did some math. I’m now 47 Bazillion years behind on reading for pleasure.

#eurovision opinion: France. I want to like this song more than I do. Really. But I just don’t think I can take another year of France sending a ballad and having the staging be “stand there and sing”. Maybe they’ll give Louane something better?

#eurovision opinion: Finland. Ooooh Myyyyy! Not only is thins song very naughty, Erika Vikman is a rock star. Can it win? Maybe. I’d like that fine.

#Eurovision opinion: Estonia. When I first heard this song I thought it was super fun. Now I’m not so sure. Tommy Cash was not amazing at the Estonian final and the song itself feels a bit too jaded. Yes, I know, Performance Art. But I’d rather have a love letter to Eurovision.

#Eurovision opinion: Denmark. The more I listen to Sissal’s Hallucination, the more I like it. If she gets some quality staging she should place high. Also, she seems super nice. I like it when nice people are rewarded with massive success.

#Eurovision opinion: Czechia. Well, hello Pop Guy Who Doesn’t Sing in Falsetto. Welcome. Seriously, Adonxs has a terrific voice and the attention to detail throughout the song and the presentation is nothing short of astounding Good Luck, Czechia!

#Eurovision opinion: Cyprus. I quite like this one. It’s not my #1 but I do find it intriguing. As it has been scheduled for the final performance in its semi-final, the staging must be epic. I do love a mystery!

#Eurovision opinion: Croatia. Marko Bosnjak is adorable and a very fine singer. But Poison Cake is a deeply weird song. Is it good weird or weird weird? I haven’t made up my mind yet. I hope Marko has a grand time at the competition. His star is definitely on the rise.

#Eurovision opinion: Belgium. I wonder if Strobe Lights being released so early in the process will impact qualification. Did it get a head start or will it be old hat? With luck, it will get some fresh, quality staging. Good luck, Red Sebastian!

#Eurovision opinion: Azerbaijan. This is a very enjoyable song. Singable, danceable, fun. Overall, I think Azerbaijan isn’t treated well by voters in this contest. Mamagama is really talented. I’m rooting hard for them to make it to the final.

#Eurovision opinion: Austria. Well, this is certainly a fabulous performance. I particularly like the last minute. I’m happy Austria has sent a strong entry in an underrepresented genre. *But* I do wonder if a song no one sing along with can win.

#Eurovision opinion: Australia. This song is fun and I really, really want to like it more than I do. Apparently Go-Jo has a cat, so that’s another point in his favor. I’m sure the staging will be very Eurovision and sparkly and everyone will enjoy it.

#Eurovision opinion: Armenia. Every time I see the performance of this song, all I can think of is that PARG would be perfect casting for Oxley Thames if there’s ever a tv adaptation of Ben Aaronovitch’s Rivers of London. River god energy is very Eurovision, right?

#Eurovision opinion: Albania. Zjerm is absolute Eurovision gold whether you understand the lyrics or not. Beatrice Gjergji can dominate a stage but I worry about how they will showcase Kole Laca. It’s tough for electronic musicians to show to advantage. Best of luck, Albania! I’m rooting for you!

I’m thinking that to distract myself from *waves hands at everything* I’ll post my very subjective opinions about each of the entries in this year’s #Eurovision. It’s true that I’m an American but also no one reads my posts so it will be fine. Right?

Here’s a #Eurovision opinion: In the battle of the French language ballads, Voyage is a much better song than Maman.

Okay. I have listened to the UK #eurovision entry. I like it fine? But the lyrics and concept are super close to Katie Perry’s Last Friday Night. There’s even a bad tattoo reference.

Sweden, I’m begging you to send Bara Badu Bastu to #eurovision. Please. This world needs more joy.

Yesterday my work in progress blew up. Plot chunks everywhere. Today I got out sticky notes and index cards and put it back together. I am a Mighty Writer and I deserve some damned cake. #writesky #writing #writinglife

How did we settle on #writesky when #skywriting was right there?
