Pain is an interesting and off-putting thing. Few if any things in life concentrate our attention so completely and terribly, and few things are more boring to listen to or read about. — Dan Simmons, The Rise of Endymion

Congrats to everyone involved in making The Residence on @netflix.com. What a supremely entertaining season that was. And that cast is extraordinary.

@ryanreadsandwrites.me How is Kevin doing? And tell your son we need updated pics. :)

I have a big ask. My 9yo son is autistic and he’s been raising a betta fish he named Kevin. Yesterday He asked if he could “share a photo of Kevin with the whole world“. I don’t know if this will work, but a dad’s gotta try. Like and share if that’s your thing. Kevin says hi! 🐟👋

This isn’t comprehensive (I’ve only seen 22 movies released this year) but here were some of my favorites: - Dune: Part Two - The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare - Twisters - The Fall Guy - Monkey Man - Alien: Romulus Honorable mention goes to Argylle. It wasn’t great but it had wild energy.

I’m an 80s kid. There was a suspension of disbelief to our movies. Sometimes silly, sometimes brutal, but it was its own thing. From brilliant to throwaway, our movies had a certain bizarro enthusiasm. While I’m not calling it a new classic, I was delighted to find some of that in Red One. Fun.
