Good question...

America has never been subject to this level of authoritarianism, and quite frankly, sheer incompetence. Out of the ashes, this moment should radicalize us to embark on an era of new reform — of our economy, our democracy, and our commitment to social justice and the law.

If you watch one thing today, please let it be this. #MomSky

“The US spent 8 decades building an international system of rules, norms and values that has produced the longest period of great power peace and global prosperity in human history.” Fareed Zakaria on how upending the world order will only weaken America: www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

Where is our leader?

"They'll never cut Social Security" is the new "they'll never overturn Roe v Wade."

Marco Rubio's collaboration with Russia's Sergei Lavrov and Putin is one of the most disgusting acts of betrayal to democracy and our nation. Rubio has secured his place in history of infamy.

The Papua New Guinea Courier is in rare form.

Of course it’s a coup. Miss the obvious, lose your republic. open.substack.com/pub/snyder/p...

It's true.

Keep pushing back. Hard. He blinked on tariffs. His California water stunt failed and has been ridiculed. He was forced to roll back cutting grants and govt payments. NSF support is resuming. CDC webpages are being restored. Street protests are starting. Lawsuits are being filed. Fight back.

Chuck doesn’t care about the rest of America. Just hook up farmers in Iowa who desperately need Canadian potash. The rest of you can fuck off.

Let's get our act together, Democrats!

Warren: "He can stand there, smile at you and say, 'anybody can vaccinate their kids who wants to,' but he literally could bankrupt the vaccines manufacturers with the power he will have. And since he's got a financial incentive to do that, we cannot trust him in that job."

Exactly!

I've been actually afraid to watch or read anything today. Instead, I decided to knit socks, listen to a book, and drink tea. It was lovely.

I wish we could cultivate a culture where people get excited about and share the new skills they've learned more than the new stuff they've bought.

Happy New Year!
