Kathleen Marie Ryan's Nympheas Rouge, Reflections of Spring, is now on view at 5 Av/53 St station! This art installation, in partnership with ChaShaMa, is part of our Vacant Unit Activation Program, which aims to fill underutilized spaces with non-traditional uses to make stations more vibrant.

This weekend marks the 75th anniversary of the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel! Formerly known as the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel when it opened on May 25, 1950, the tunnel runs under the East River and connects Lower Manhattan to Red Hook. It's the longest continuous underwater vehicular tunnel in North America.

LIRR President Rob Free visited Penn Station to chat with customers ahead of Memorial Day weekend. We’ve added extra summer service on the Montauk Branch, and the Cannonball is back—running express to the Hamptons and Montauk every Thursday and Friday!

Starting with the June monthly ticket, which goes on sale May 25, monthly tickets will be printed on paper instead of MetroCards. MetroCards will no longer be available in ticket machines or at ticket offices. To ride the subway or city buses, tap your phone, bank card, or OMNY Card. mta.info/omny
