Attention is the canvas… what some might call mindfulness or ‘concentration’ dabs its brush on only a corner. A leaf falls in silence… does Attention bend to catch it or just let it be? 一We All Share the same Sky

In Zazen, we give up all hope of ever being 'better person.' We’re not waiting for something to change about self or other. It's noticing change naturally flowing... appreciating... without distance, gaps, time, needing, seeking. In This Way... authenticity and integrity... reverence and awe.

Showing my work… Related to the homework assignment of listening beyond the range of sound, seeing beyond the verge of sight. 一We Are the Practice Itself

We could learn to listen like the sky, Receiving and releasing sunlight, cloud and wind. Until then... We are not truly listening. We’re missing. 一Empty Flow, Clear Peak

Mountains do not rush; their patience forms the valleys. Namu Dai Bosa. 一We Share the Same Earth and Sky

Reflecting on the fact that we’re an energetic flowing of dynamic change, rather than change being a kind of distant object that we’re waiting for and happens to us, at some point down the road. In This Way, it’s a far more assertive version of ‘Being Here,’ as the Now. 一We Are the Practice Itself

The same could be said of my experience of Zen as It’s no different… with the exception that I could use the word… uncovering. 一Dignity and Grace

To all in the LGBTQ community during Pride Month and beyond: May YOUR personhood be honored and respected. May YOU embody the creative impulse of spirit and receive abundant goodwill. May YOU live freely as the Universe manifested YOU一unhindered and whole. 一We All Share the Same Sky

Sunlight sweeps the Earth一 still Buddhas bathe in silence, tears reflect my awe. 一Empty Flow, Clear Peak

Zazen isn't driven by fear. Zazen is embodied attention to Universal Loving Presence, without strategy.

Human beings say they want love, but in daily life, it's fear that moves the footsteps of most. Being a meat-puppet of fear is a crappy-meal that's supersized. Zen invites freedom from that. Liberation is in our own hands... not minds agitation and fear.

Intention and action could align.

70 seconds of Zen. 一Appreciate You

The practice of Zazen... whether sitting... standing... walking... laying on the ground... No-thing or nothing’s added... No-thing or nothing’s subtracted... No-thing or nothing’s avoided or chased. What is This? 一We At the Practice Itself

Not entertaining seeming of coming, going一 only Presence, THIS! 一Empty Flow, Clear Peak

The original 14th amendment… However, innumerable all beings, are we vowed to care for them all…

“Things are not as they appear, nor are they otherwise…”, we could let this teaching from the Lankavatara Sutra be a koan or a gateless barrier for our practice: neither cling to appearances nor deny them.

Anchoring attention and intention to our inherent nature, that I don’t get distracted by the everyday shitshow that aspects of the mind’s greed, hatred and delusion attempts to create, causing unmanageability and instability. 一We Are the Practice Itself

Looking upward, we are neither ashamed nor embarrassed as the presence of open sky; nor, bowing downward, are we ashamed or embarrassed as the presence of earth. Calligraphy meaning: 無恥 (mūchī)... being without shame.

Reflecting on an essential element of Zen and healing the way we can go at what we experience. 一Dignity and Grace

What is Zen? Freedom from self and other deception. 一We Are the Practice Itself

Cause and effect… are 「ONE」 一We Are the Practice Itself

What is the nature of life and death? It could be meeting the presenting daily dilemmas... with the compass of values rather than the aspect of selfing that prefers to show up grumpy and aloof. In my experience, there's less to regret. Appreciation in ACTION is called GRATITUDE. 一Dignity & Grace

Someone asked me "why does your incense box on it say Marijuana?" I replied, you mean Nāgārjuna, who taught on emptiness? 🤦🏽‍♂️ ~Just Sayin' People, I can't buy a vowel 😒

Zazen doesn't fix… It shows that our authentic nature, though it can appear that way, was never broken一only hidden from myself and so-called "others," when misaligned. "Within" 360° AWARENESS of No Thinking... No Seeking... No Clinging… we are no longer periodically peeking into the universe...

Why do we want what we want and do what we do? One Zen monks experience.

Argue for so-called 'your' limitations and they will be yours forever… Richard Bach

BE the feeling of words beyond symbols... patterns... and intellectualizations. Words are pointers… not prisons or coffins to take up residence. Intentional ATTENTION... Awareness to what remains... without appearance or form... light, shadow and preferences '無...'

Thinking and BEING ain’t the same thing. 一Love, Serve & Remember

Having a daily meditation practice and process. For me it invites the opportunity to influence... extend... expand... perhaps even change my depth perception and field of vision within present moment experience. 一We All Share the Same Sky

If we truly buy into shōgyō mujō… endless transformation… what, exactly, do we imagine we’ll get to keep? mind’s limited perspectives? The identity mind created for us? The personality that’s a mask for the self?

Reflection on grief... phantom missing limb person...

Living from a transactional-mind… never-can-get-enough-mind… restless-mind… in my direct experience, arose from anxiety... and the storyline or sensation that something was somehow missing. So I kept playing some version of hide-and-seek with the so-called "self" that never quite felt like me.
