"In a sweeping order that extended to Ukrainians and Afghans, as well as military members and their relatives, the judge ... wrote that the Trump administration’s categorical termination of legal pathways for those groups was probably unlawful..." www.nytimes.com/2025/05/28/u...

Even as that creepy little villain and the cosplay queen scheme to boost deportations, this is coming. Get ready for a hell of a rough harvest - and likely rougher winter. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

So: You're white and your bus driver/train conductor isn't? Ask to take a selfie with them, label it with your positive experience, and send it to Secretary Duffy. Share it on your neighborhood feed and other socials. Share it here! Put up hundreds, thousands, of positive experience posts.

There’s a story to be written about the menagerie of tech nonprofits that’ve proven vital recently. E.g., When you click on a Courtlistener link, that’s a nonprofit, which hosts much of its stuff on the Internet Archive, another nonprofit, both of which are connected to late activist Aaron Swartz…

I have a huge request for my readers: Trump's tax and spending bill will be moving through the Senate. Senators can invoke the Byrd Rule to try to remove the anti-trans Medicaid ban and EHB changes. You can find and call your senator here and ask them to do that. Please share as well.

Rubio 'likely' violated Constitution in ordering Mahmoud Khalil deported A federal judge has ruled that Secretary of State Marco Rubio likely violated the Constitution when he stripped Mahmoud Khalil of his green card and ordered him deported over his pro-Palestinian activism at Columbia U.

once again I’m begging you to remember that alt text is not only a way to make visual content accessible but you can also talk your shit

The positive subway and bus and train stories need to be collected and run in a loop. Here's a contribution: www.pawbuzz.com/man-seen-bot...

At the state department, you won’t serve the Constitution—you’ll serve one president, one department, one mission. That’s not public service. That’s seems like a loyalty oath. New draft policy reads less like guidance & more like an authoritarian handbook. 👀 #AltGov fam.state.gov/FAM/03FAM/03...

You can act on false conspiracy theories about the government, and violate numerous laws, and that is fine. But if you suggest that government is not dysfunctional, you will get fired from DOGE:

When do we start winning?

WE ARE RELIEVED TO HEAR A U.S. COURT HAS RULED THAT TARIFFS AGAINST OUR ISLAND WERE ILLEGAL AND A SPECTACULAR MISUNDERSTANDING OF GEOGRAPHY, BIOLOGY, AND REALITY. FLIPPERS UP UNTIL WE ARE PERMANENTLY SHOWN DUE RESPECT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -PM Tuxley II

Thank goodness they'd evacuated the village, but still ... Climate change, folks. And consider if their government had decided they didn't need the technology to warn of glacial activity and warning systems.

Well, well, well. Another voice of reason speaks: "A federal court has determined that President Donald Trump does not have the authority to unilaterally impose tariffs" Incoming tantrum in 3, 2, 1...(After all, this just took away one of his favorite playthings)

Thankfully, the village was evacuated already, but one person is missing and everyone else’s homes are destroyed. Make no mistake: this is a climate disaster.

Update: reports today that multiple legal observers were arrested today in New York at two separate immigration courts, for allegedly “obstructing” ICE. Not only that, apparently some immigration courts are barring the public from attending hearings. This mess is escalating fast.

Today, we’re posting the 10th amendment in all its one-sentence glory. Our leaders keep forgetting their civics education, so we’re happy to provide the reminder. 👍

So happy I'm not/never was on Twitter. But Erin Reed's insight on current activity there brought to mind something I learned about Shenandoah National Park about a decade ago. Worth sharing, I think, on a number of counts. www.atlasobscura.com/articles/she...

I thought as much. There really should be a global revolution against these blowup launches; as has been pointed out, rockets repeatedly blowing up point to process and design problems that we have not habitually seen in developing space travel. www.space.com/spacex-stars...

4-year-old Bakersfield girl facing deportation could die within days of losing medical care - Los Angeles Times Don’t ever tell me that Christians support the GOP. There is nothing Christian or Christ-like about this. Just plain old cruelty and callousness:

Feeling like it's time for a refresher ...
