Call for an Assistant / Associate Prof. just opened at the @crchum.bsky.social in the Neuroscience Axis ! www.chumontreal.qc.ca/en/emplois/a...

This year @esamarut.bsky.social and I took over Scientific Communication, an MSc level class in @umontreal.ca As well as practicing presenting their work, we asked them to team up and critique a preprint article for publication on @prelights.bsky.social

Science is one of humanity’s greatest pursuits. Publishing, on the contrary, is simply a speculative bubble. Navigate the "system" as needed to survive, but never lose sight of the difference between true discovery and the game built around it.

Another fun journal club today new format with one paper discussed in depth (first in the list) with others summarized in a couple of slides. I think we've found a winning format! murphyroyallab.org/journal-club

Excited to share the preprint for one of my postdoctoral projects in the Nestler lab 🥳

Down to my last few post-it notes, that my group members made for me in 2014, after I got tenure at MIT. Each post-it note contains something that I said often enough, that my group members thought it would save me time, to simply hand out a post-it note, whenever the wisdom was needed :)

So grateful to the @wellcometrust.bsky.social for investing in me... believing in me. It's hard to believe in yourself sometimes. Science is going really well and I am thrilled to be back in the lab wellcome.org/research-fun...

@ebbsociety.bsky.social EBBS 2025 in Bordeaux is approaching fast - only three more weeks! If you present a poster, please prepare it in A0 portrait. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Important 'Matters Arising' from @neurome.bsky.social and Zhaoxia Yu discussing false positives due to multiple comparisons in large-scale gene expression data. I applaud Eran and others who consistently raise these issues for discussion in the community. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Happy to share the current version of our latest story, currently under peer review. Cool collab with @dablab.bsky.social @manickam-lab.bsky.social and others. We are not only understanding endothelial deficits in an #autism model, but now also capable of rescuing them! #16p11.2 #treatment #P2Y2

This week marks the 5-year anniversary of the lab! Lots of great people have come and gone (some are still here) ! Looking forward to seeing what we do in the next 5 now that we have built up momentum! Here are some lab pics from over the years 👇

My laboratory at Université Laval in Québec City, Canada, is looking for a postdoc to study how neuromodulatory systems impact cortical processing during foraging behavior. This fully-funded position offers a collaborative environment in a great city. More info👇 can-acn.org/postdoctoral...

Good things coming!?

New preprint. Hippocampal CB1 and navigation strategies. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Big week for astrocyte research: 3 new Science papers link astrocytes to behavior. We're excited to add to the momentum with our new PNAS paper: a theory, grounded in biology, proposing astrocytes as key players in memory storage and recall. w/ JJ Slotine and @krotov.bsky.social (1/6)

There is still a spot for a PhD student or Postdoc in the Lim Lab! If you are interested in metabolism, 14-3-3 proteins, adipocytes, or beta-cells, please email me (details at www.limlab.ca). International applicants are welcome! Positions are fully funded. Looking forward to working with you!

As we come to an end of another great @canacn.bsky.social meeting, I am so glad to have to got to organize this with two amazing partners in crime, my co chair @rcbagot.bsky.social and president Melanie Woodin.

Fantastic Career Networking Panel to finish off last day of @canacn.bsky.social !

fantastic day at the 2025 Neural Circuits and Behaviour Satellite meeting! great talks by trainees Xin Zhao, Govind Peringod, Luca Pancotti, and Peiying Wen, and congrats to Govind for his top trainee talk award! so cool to see all the great circuits and behaviour work across the country

And that’s a wrap folks for #CAN2025. Thanks to everyone who came and participated in the science and conversations and we conclude with the past (me), now present ( @rcbagot.bsky.social ) and future ( @markcembrowski.bsky.social ) chairs of the @canacn.bsky.social meeting. See you in Montreal 2026!

Happy to see that the 2nd part (2018 to 2021) of my postdoc work is now out as a preprint.

Let’s go!

Can’t wait for this! @canacn.bsky.social is always a highlight of the year!

@lewisholt.bsky.social sharing some cool data about astrocytes driving stress-induced behaviour! #astroglia

@papouinlab.bsky.social made it over to Bsky!
