Just my opinion, but if the Leafs can lock up Knies and Tavares for what they pay those 2 combined now, I think they should do it. Something like 8×8 for Knies and 3-4 for Tavares seems reasonable

Talkin to Oilers fans today, and so far most of them are more pissed about being stuck with Cuthbert's call than the Oilers getting spanked in the 3rd, and now lament the Leafs being eliminated lol Glad to agree with Oilers fans on something finally, Cuthbert is the worst game caller in the NHL

The Leafs won't all of a sudden suck if they lose Marner. It just means instead of having a 100 point player and a 15 point player, you try to have 2 40-60 point players. You won't have the same high end 1st line, but you'll have a higher floor in your middle 6.

Just wanted to give credit where credit is due. Brendan Shanahan has done a good job with the Leafs. The organization was a pure shit show on and off the ice when he took over. Now they are probably amongst the best off the ice and have made the post-season for 9 straight years. Thats a good job

I'm a bit irked about the Matthews injury with the Leafs. Apparently he thinks he'll be 100% by training camp with time, rest, and treatment. Well, if he was injured in training camp, why didn't the Leafs just shut him down til January so he'd be healthy for the final half of the season + playoffs?

The Leafs biggest problem this year was that they cannot play to win at home, they constantly got caught playing not to lose. This is a great team, a contender even, when they just play to win. This is a bad team when they play not to lose or try to protect a lead.

And Max Domi's diving poke check saved a for-sure Panthers goal that may have saved the game. Panthers go up 1-0 there and who knows how the rest of the game plays out.

I really hope that we see more of tonight's Matthews. He was a lot of fun to watch. I remember 1 shift early in the first where Panthers were just bouncing off him while he figured out what he wanted to do with the puck. Just pure domination with the puck.

The Leafs played a great game overall but I want to specifically point out Matthews for looking like regular season dangerous as fuck Matthews and Mitch Marner who I dont think avoided contact all night. He took hits, he tried to deliver some, love it!
