A lot went down last night—here’s a quick catch-up. Trump says tariffs will strengthen U.S. manufacturing, but just before announcing them, his administration cut support for centers that help American firms do exactly that. Make it make sense.

The next Democratic president will be charged with cleaning up the fourth consecutive Republic economic calamity. When will the American people catch on? Maybe, for starters, when the Democrats start pointing it out.

The guy who campaigned on lowering prices on day one now says he hopes prices go up Congrats, America www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcn...

This should be all over the news this morning, but I had to seek it out. Instead the news, even non MSM continue to pander to Trump. Way to go Democrats!

Congratulations to Judge Susan Crawford on her victory, and to the people of Wisconsin for electing a judge who believes in the rule of law and protecting our freedoms.

Pretty certain Sleepy Joe would be top of story if #signalgate happened under him. Sundown Don getting a total pass.

Studies have shown that tariffs depress productivity in protected industries. U.S. steel is a case in point. (via @bennsteil.bsky.social) www.cfr.org/blog/steel-p...

Trump and Musk are trying to run the US like a business (and poorly, no wonder he filed for bankruptcy so many times). But a Govt can't be run like a business because the people let go just cost the Govt elsewhere. They are not "off the books". Unless starving and letting people die is the point.

I am not against going to the movie theater to see a movie. But they are so expensive for a single ticket let alone for two or for a family. It's an event, and in all honesty, movies would likely get a bigger audience if people can rent for $5.99 at their convenience.

Two of Trump's wives are from former Eastern bloc countries. Is it really surprising he admires the country where he buys his wives?

So - I've actually led Ebola outbreak response at USAID. This is bunk from Elon. They have laid off most of the experts, they're bankrupting most of the partner orgs, have withdrawn from WHO, and muzzled CDC. What's left is a fig-leaf effort to cover their asses politically.

If you’re cheering for a South African sociopath to fuck over US military veterans then you should probably stop with that America first bullshit.

The wealth gap in this country has resulted in the demise of medium-priced items. Plus, wage gains and parlay betting. Today on Marketplace.

You know why the tech bros wany to run the world now? Because their company valuations are overblown and they know this. Tech is the next big bubble so they're trying to stake put their piece of the pie and keep themselves relevant before it bursts.

Thou shalt not let the foreign billionaire whose rockets blow up all the time anywhere near the air traffic control system.

Today in Congress / former Congress: RFKjr hearing at 10am EST (we’ll watch); former Sen. Menendez scheduled for sentencing; former Sen. Sinema lobbies for crypto; House GOP still has no budget reconciliation plan per Rep. Greene (take with grain of salt). www.congress.gov/event/119th-...

This is grossly irresponsible reporting by the AP. What’s being offered is not a buyout. The deal is if you agree to resign in September you can continue working remotely until then. There is no buyout or severance.

Tens of thousands of Afghans who risked their lives working for the U.S. government or military are now in limbo after the Trump administration issued two executive orders targeting refugees.
