I was familiar with "The Painter" & "Dirt Cheap," but this was my first time diving into Cody Johnson's "Leather" & it's an incredible country listen. 🙌🏼

In this week's special Album Dive episode, I’m joined by Cody Hanson, drummer and founding member of Hinder, to celebrate the release of their brand-new album “Back To Life” and reflect on the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough debut, “Extreme Behavior.” 🔗 in comments!

Over the last few weeks MWM went dark as my family mourned the loss of my father. I'm truly grateful for the love, support & understanding during this time. I'm happy to share that MWM returns this week with a new episode that's headed to your favorite podcast providers now.

If it wasn't for this man, I wouldn't love music the way I do. I'll never forget you dad. Thank you for always turning off the TV and turning up the stereo every time I asked. I love you. 🙏🏼

As my father's services are this week, MWM will be dark through this Friday, where I will resume episodes again. I'll also be updating the calendar, as I have some episodes ready to air, but need some time to be with family. I appreciate your understanding during this time.

My beloved father has passed away from his battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served with pride & went out fighting like only a warrior would. In his honor, please crank AC/DC's "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)" REALLY FUCKING LOUD. I love you dad. 🫡

My father is nearing the end of his battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer & I am going silent this week in his honor. Please use the time you would usually listen to call a loved one, friend or even someone you haven't spoken to in a while & tell them how much they mean to you.

Oh yeah! 🙌🏼 youtu.be/J8cqN3sFAjI?...

I would love to record an episode that focuses on 90's Boom Bap Hip Hop. Probably my favorite era of the genre!

Does anyone else own any Original Master Recording LPs or CDs? Counting Crows' "August & Everything After" is one of the few Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab CDs I own, and it sounds absolutely incredible! So much separation & clarity!

A new "Early Access" episode has been added to the MWM Patreon page. Thank you to everyone who has joined the community. The support for the show is immensely appreciated!

Sometimes when it's rainy, I put on music that's a complete 180 to the weather. Dirty Heads fits that vibe.

This week, I'm thrilled to welcome back @zackdeuce.bsky.social, co-host of @neatcastpod.bsky.social as he joins me to craft an epic 90s rock playlist, featuring the best album openers from across the entire decade. {Link In Comments}

I mean, I'd buy a copy! 🤘🏼

Just scored Louie Rankin’s "Showdown" on CD, I've been hunting for this one forever! "Typewriter" was my jam back in high school…I played that cassette single to death. RIP. 🙏🏼

Even though it didn't hit # 1 like "Blaze Of Glory," Jon Bon Jovi's "Miracle" from Young Guns II was a hell of a single! It's got quite the lineup too: Jeff Beck w/ the guitar solo, Benmont Tench on organ, Aldo Nova on guitar, Randy Jackson on bass & Kenny Aronoff on drums.🙌🏼

It's New Music Friday! ALBUMS: 💿 Eric Church - Evangeline vs. The Machine 💿 Lucius - S/T 💿 Maddie & Tae - Love & Light 💿 Hardy - Country! SINGLES: 💿 Mammoth - The End 💿 The Ataris - Car Song 💿 Joe Bonamassa - Breakthrough 💿 New Found Glory - 100% What's in your queue?

"All along, along, there were incidents and accidents. There were hints and allegations." One of my favorite lyrics of all time! 🙌🏼

I love this song so, so much.

"What I Am" by Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians is one of those tracks that I could hear every day for the rest of my life & still be grateful each & every time I hear it. Absolute perfection! Also, an incredibly underrated guitar solo, that's the song's musical exclamation point.

Fun fact: Bruno Mars was one of the songwriters on Matisyahu's incredible "One Day."

I am sure when most people hear Miami Vice, they immediately think of Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight" (or Nonpoint's incredible cover from the 2000's movie). However, when I think of Miami Vice, the first song that comes to mind is Glenn Frey's "You Belong To The City."

We got into a car, away we started rollin'. I said, "How much you pay for this?" She said, "Nothing, man, it's stolen!"

If you're in NJ & just saw someone drive by singing Eric Carmen's "Make Me Lose Control" at the top of their lungs, it was me. I'd apologize, but I'm not the least bit sorry. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Giving Chickenfoot III a spin, and it's officially the 2nd CD in my collection that came with a pair of 3D glasses (the other being LA Guns' "Hollywood Vampires.") What are some of the more interesting CD packaging ideas you've seen out in the wild?

I've seen the video for Guns N Roses' "You Could Be Mine" so many times, I find the guitar solo strange when I don't hear Arnold say "Hasta La Vista, Baby" over it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Which version of Guns N Roses "You're Crazy" do you prefer: Appetite For Destruction or GNR Lies & why? 🤔

When I was in 8th grade, growing up in North Jersey, I was super stoked to see the Suburban Diner in Paramus featured in Trixter's "Give It To Me Good" video, because my folks would take me there all the time growing up. 🤘🏼

In terms of musical storytelling, how incredible is Warrant's "Uncle Tom's Cabin?" 🤘🏼 Jani Lane was such a gifted songwriter. Case and point: "Cherry Pie" becomes a completely different album when you remove the title track. I get why the label wanted it at the time, but... 🤷🏼‍♂️

I'll be the first to admit that I own a bunch of soundtracks to movies I've never actually seen. 🤷🏼‍♂️ That said, I can't be the only one here! So, please ease my mind & chime in with the movies you've never seen, yet you own the soundtrack to! 🤘🏼

This week, I’m joined by Chris Vos, lead singer & guitarist of The Record Company for an in-depth conversation covering highlights from across the band’s career. Thanks to Chris for the fascinating discussion! You know what do to from here (check the comments if you don't).

Who else remembers the Razor & Tie "Totally 80's" compilation? Yes, I own a lot of these on other CDs, but this comp was too much fun to pass up. It's like I'm a fan of mixtapes or something. 😂

Just got back from a local book sale & they had a media section that included CDs at $0.50 each. The house lost its advantage. 🤷🏼‍♂️💿😁

I'm excited to share that if you shop at oldglory.com - you can now use the code MIXTAPE for 15% any order! I've snagged some awesome music related stuff on there, but there's also sports, pop culture and entertainment departments as well!

This week, The Presidents Of The United States of America's Chris Ballew joins me to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band’s self-titled debut album! youtu.be/jSP_DjY2dZE
