Shall we compare Lincoln to Vance? Both were born in broken hillbilly homes of the Ohio valley. Both fought and worked to move into the highest reaches of society, but with each day Lincoln became a slightly better person, while Vance has become slightly worse.

In March 1865 #FredDouglas went to DC for Lincoln’s 2nd inauguration. The City was full of wounded Union soldiers, Confederate deserters, and escaped and emancipated African Americans. The war was almost over, but rebellion “had reached the verge of madness.” Something desperate would happen.

Sorry to butt in, but 78% of soldiers voted for Lincoln on 1964. 78%! While civilian Copperheads were declaring the War hopeless, and the cost in human life and suffering too great, almost 80% of those that did the actual suffering said, “fuck those assholes in Richmond.”

165 officers died in the line of duty last year. Most died in accidents or of similar causes. 64 were killed. 3-Stabbed 12-Vehicle Assault 49-Gunfire There’s probably some room for accident or lack of malicious intent in those numbers. There are around 750,000 police officers in the U.S.
