Her stats line up with CDC data…

Out at the park today and found some water snakes sunning themselves in the branches

My initial reaction to this statement is that it is extremely glib. Sure it sounds good on the surface, but there are so many complexities that can interfere with seeing people, even talking to them. Rather than write everyone off for this, I’d rather take more into consideration to find out why.

Took a drive around the lake today. Found cedar-apple rust fungus in the eastern red cedars.

Nothin’ like a good sinus clearing session

The cost of accessing peer reviewed research is astronomical and the paywalls keep regular people (even some students) out of luck. One part of fighting for affordable access is knowing the history of how we got to this point. Not surprising: billionaires and greed slate.com/technology/2...

Tonight’s study was a dive into allegory. My literal brain often misses the allegorical message in many works, which makes some of my spiritual and literary educational endeavors difficult. Wven though im not Christian or religious in any way…

Tonight’s amateur science rabbit hole had me questioning how intricately involved electricity is in our world down to the atomic level after doing some reading in the physics field. After only a brief search I stumbled on a cosmology that had my skeptic sense tingling…

Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.

I like this breakdown of the Qatar plane debate (Im in the unethical camp due to several reasons, and illegal camp if its going to Trump library after). I would like to find a good breakdown of all the conflicts of interest this transaction has attached to it. www.factcheck.org/2025/05/unwr...

I’m doing a back to the basics regrouping on my spiritual beliefs. I’m 100% NOT religious. I am spiritual, using the definition that I’m seeking my connection to the world on several levels. Emotional, intellectual, with family, friends, community, to local nature and the Earth and Universe…

See also: why Wikipedia says that Europeans did not use glue until around 1500. I went looking and tracked it down to a 1970s book on modern adhesives that had a throwaway paragraph saying that most European medieval furniture was made without adhesives.

Studying the Iliad with the teens and came across a passage about grating cheese into a wine as a healing drink 🧐 Further research to satisfy my curiosity has me learning more Greek mythology and interesting takes on modern bartending. www.worldhistory.org/Kykeon/

Spent the evening learning about crystal vibrations, specifically quartz and how they are used in science/technology. I had no idea rubies and sapphires were used as well. Also picked up a new to me term: piezoelectric. Physics isn’t my strong area, but I still find it fascinating.

Was down and out for most of the weekend, luckily my family was around to keep the house running. Stomach yuck almost better. Going to read for a bit, sleep, then hopefully wake to a less grumpy tummy.

Contemplating starting up the spiritual life coaching business I was planning a few years ago before life happened. As always, big ideas that I need to pare down. Just putting it out in the universe to see what happens 😉

Happy Mothers Day to all the fantastic moms out there 💚 My day is going great so far. Breakfast in bed (Swedish pancakes, banana and strawberries with coffee on the side), my oldest made me flowers with a felted bee, and I got a free drink at Scooters.

The moon is watching over me tonight. She’s peeking through the window 💚
