Hyperlocal post this, but if you've missed the Fast and the Furious movies and want some car-based thrilling action, I recommend watching senior citizens reverse out of parking spaces at the Parade at Yelverton. Hair-raising stuff. #Dartmoor

It's stag beetle season! 😎 Look out for them on warm balmy evenings this summer and record your sightings for the #GreatStagHunt 🔍👀 Record your sighting👇 ptes.org/gsh

Adventures in jam making. Finally jamming last year's loganberries to make space in the freezer for this year's fruit. Added in some of this year's loganberries, gooseberries, jostaberries, blackcurrants and raspberries. It may be a disaster but just for right now it looks awesome.

Picked today, more on the way. I'm thinking fools, jams, crumbles...

Puppy leaves some of her breakfast, which will be given to the hedgehogs tonight, while sneaking out and eating leftover hedgehog food I put out last night. It's the circle of life. Or hedgehog food. One of those.

Brighton people. I've been referred one David Barry Arnold (born 1950) who died in Hailsham in May. I'm told he played music in Brighton when younger. Guitar I think, he had one in his care home room. Would be cool to locate his gig buddies and get them to play at his service. Anyone out there?

New addiction incoming

#FoodStudies #FoodJustice #SocialEnterprise I need your help for a thing please... Could you give me your best examples of incubator/accelerator models for food & hospitality businesses, esp. for business owners from marginalised communities? UK & beyond. Thanks! 🙏💐

Grape jelly attempted with home-made apple pectin. No set after a few attempts, bringing it up to 105°C and looking for wrinkles in the jelly on a cold plate, but it was setting on the spoon and on the sides of the pan, so have jarred it. Might shortly have several jars of grape syrup.

Pup has had no accidents for long enough that she's been granted free access to the house. So far, so good. Even though she will still steal my socks given half a chance.

Never used to be that bothered about hydrangeas, but they really are banging

Big pan of chopped up apple thinnings boiled for two hours, strained through a tea cloth overnight and reduced on the hob and we have apple pectin for jams and jellies. The meths is to test the pectin as it coagulates it.

Got a few up to see if they're ready. Go or no go? 🌱

Things to do but I'm pinned down by a knackered puppy. She had her last training class (for the time being) this morning.

Thinnings. 1) Apple scrap vinegar 2) Apple pectin 3) Compost 4) Allow to rot and throw at next ne'er-do-well put in the village stocks

Thinning might be needed just a little bit.

No. No, they can’t.

Hot puppy + ice cube = very happy.

Love that according to the TV report, the Antarctic researchers are closing out their midwinter day by watching The Thing. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Literally begging you to post about Just Some Stuff. We will see the news I absolutely promise. Twenty people will repost the same exact thing about the news. Only you can post about a turtle you saw

Juvenile hedgehog took the puppy by surprise in the garden. Barking ensued. Sorry, hedgehog.

Just been enjoying sowing some seeds in the potting shed

Encouraging delivery notification email from the Co-op to tell me that my groceries will be delivered two hours late. To Kent.

What's your sign?

Apparently this needs repeating (again) Dhara Vyas, chief executive of industry body Energy UK tells Carbon Brief that it is “crystal clear what has driven electricity bills up in the UK…it’s the wholesale costs, driven by the price of gas”. www.carbonbrief.org/...

This is absolutely top murmuring

Been watching The Last Voyage of the Demeter. In the 'crew-at-sea-doomed-by-unspeakable-horror' genre it pales next to The Terror (available on ITVX).

Me: I should probably tidy around the soft fruit and get the net up. The soft fruit: Crack on, lad. We're pretty much ready.

@tabledebates.bsky.social Fishy subject line in your last email

Saw a swift over the garden last night, first we've seen this year.

Tucci in Italy on Disney+ is lovely stuff. I enjoyed his CNN series but this is going to places I was less familiar with and is more intimate in tone.
