since younger people are asking how shockingly stupid things were in 2003, may I present to you this circa-03 sign that I bought from a local restaurant and their (unrelated) going out of business sale a few years later

It's our job as millennials to pass down how stupid the Iraq War 00s really were to those who didn't live those years. A national indiscriminate bloodthirsty madness that typically expressed itself in the form of ridiculous punchlines.

Is anyone interested in seeing what comics I buy when I go to the comic shop? I consider myself more of an indie comics guy, but I've been on a superhero kick of late and got quite a lot today.

Kids would read more American comics if they were encouraged to crumple, tear, throw them in backpacks and generally beat the hell out of them. Big advantage of manga and scholastic ogns is that they’re sturdy and no adult is telling you to delicately put them in a plastic sleeve in a cool dark box.

As time goes on, I find myself ever increasingly dedicated to pre-2000 anime and less interested in keeping up with new stuff. I want one of these for 1980-2000 anime!

Dance Dance Revolution is such a good game. My skills have again reset after a long period of neglecting exercise but I'm determined to get better! Gotta start going to Round 1 more often!

No Kings, but two One of Comics One of Cartoons

oh my god 117 individual pages of model sheets and visdev materials for the cancelled 90s CATS animated adaptation have been found and scanned and put up for us all, this is... like, the holy grail? like you've all seen this, but now we have EVERYBODY www.tumblr.com/eye-may/7857...

I had Oliver Stone sign a copy of The Untold History of the United States at a book signing.

I want to collect the Marvel/Star Heathcliff comics but this one issue is the one that makes it annoying! It's bizarrely hard to find at a reasonable price. I guess some comic collectors want all the Marvel 25th anniversary covers and the Star Comics ones are less common?

My expectations for the Fantastic Four movie are extremely low, but I'm kind of embarrassed by how much I want the HERBIE popcorn/soda/candy holder *and* the Galactus popcorn bucket...

I don't live in a city but my county's musical icon is Jimmy Sturr, the Polka King.

🎉 Big update! The #InternetArchive has launched a new version of GifCities, our search engine for vintage GeoCities GIFs. Search better. Blink more! Check it out ➡️ blog.archive.org/2025/06/09/k... 🧵

Based on how elaborate this map is, you might think it's from a Shin Megami Tensei or a Wizardry or something, but what if I told you that it's actually a map for a level in the first Gex

I went and checked out a mostly empty strip mall yesterday. There was some interesting stuff inside a lot of the empty stores. Half of this strip mall will be demolished soon to make way for apartments with some shops and restaurants.

I'm glad Dark Horse has brought The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service back in print. I never read *much* of it, but I enjoyed that series. I hope they continue to translate/release more of it! Also I just learned that the series is STILL GOING in Japan after over 20 years!

Look how cute the cover of this Japanese Mac HyperCard dungeon-crawling RPG is! Released in 1993 and titled a 'Stack RPG'.

Happy birthday to C.C. Beck, co-creator of Capt. Marvel and one of the most important artists of the Golden Age. He revived Cap, to great fanfare, for DC in 1972. Shazam #1 was the first issue #1 that collectors went bonkers over. It was hard to find copies! The dealers bought them all up.

Round 1 raised all their prize prices, so I cashed out on the fanciest portable Bluetooth speaker I expect to ever own! (It's a Bose SoundLink Revolve II)

The reason all the throw back posters for Fantastic Four look so bad is because they want a midcentury look, but they don't want to pay actual human illustrators or graphic designers for their work. So it's this half assed bullshit. That looks like a superbowl ad for an hotel booking service.

Damn, Bring Her Back was intense (in a good way). I can't help but love an *elemental* movie, especially when the elemental focus is on water.

I found a 2GB SD card in the parking lot outside of our office and I swear the only thing on it is a game boy camera photo of a cat

I need you all to see the hype video that this person made to sell their 1994 Geo Metro

Even though they're pretty much exclusively known for their superhero comics, I think it's cool that Marvel used to publish a wider variety of titles with the likes of Man-Thing, Howard the Duck, Groo the Wanderer, ElfQuest, The 'Nam, and Tomb of Dracula.

The way this guy says "Chibi Anime" has completely destroyed my vocabulary.

this has needed to happen for at least a decade, but it's finally happening it seems. I am rooting for it to be good, KC deserves to be famouser than he is.

Jingle Cats is a Japan-only PS1 game where you make cats fall in love so they'll sing songs for you. We've translated it for you to enjoy. youtu.be/jaJTUAeq04M?...

I need to decide soon if I want to replay Deltarune chapters 1&2 or forge ahead into chapter 3...

DELTARUNE Chapter 3&4 come out in a few days! Do you remember how to play? deltarune.com/cheatsheet/

I think I have obtained what might be the greatest Tokimeki Memorial doujin in the world...

Just found out that Bernie Wrightson illustrated an entire Spider-Man graphic novel and had to track it down. It’s the perfect example of an artist only coming alive when they are doing what they love (monsters in Wrightson’s case), and struggling otherwise (superheroes obviously bored him!)

Frame stitch of Sarah in the dress given to her by Dr. Eggman, before he reveals that it's for their wedding. From Sonic the Hedgehog the Movie (OVA Episode 2) (ソニック★ザ★ヘッジホッグ)

I wish it was possible to get this on blu-ray.

To me, The Real Ghostbusters is peak Ghostbusters. This is cool!
