#HorrorWritersChat Howdy. I'm Nick from Ireland, sort of (it's complicated) - and I write horror short fiction of all stripes from pulp to cosmic horror. I also started writing Fantasy-Horror novels and I'm semi-querying the first one

#HorrorWritersChat As an insectophobe.... definitely the bugs. The flutter of wings, the small things crawling underneath the bed

The very first #horror story I ever published is appearing now in print for Necrologia Zine. I'm so happy to see it on paper alongside some badass art and other cool horror short fiction.

Hey! If you go to ImpossibleWorlds.net, you can find the first year of our publication! All four issues for free! Want us to make more? Then consider helping out on Patreon!

The rest of the flock at the mouth of the Dargle in Bray Harbour #swanposting

Impossible Worlds is one of my favourite SFF magazines, editors and artists are great to work with. Good pay for writers as far as semi-pro goes. And they have a few issues out free to read if you want to check them out before deciding if you want to support them :) (which you should)

#swanposting Naptime! I learned today it's normal for mother swans to lose around 30% of their weight while laying on the eggs, they gorge beforehand to anticipate this

It's a great book folks, funny but disarming and creepy too. Strong recommend if you like "something ain't right in this isolated community" books

#swanposting Pair of nesting swans buttressing their nest on the Dargle, just above the high-tide line. Surrounded by curious ducks There was a Heron too, but they chased him off before I could take a picture

Nesting mama swan on the banks of the Dargle. This whole bank was flooded yesterday, but it looks like she knew to build the top of the nest just above the floodline (Also, the swans in Bray are not aggressive bastards like every other swan I've met? What's the deal with that?)

I think we're a ways away from seeing a game concept from @summer-eternal.bsky.social (ex Disco Elysium devs with co-operatively owned studio), but their first newsletter goes hard

Kneecap begins his Coachella performance with a powerful message.

What I don’t get about transphobes is, even if they were 100% demonstrably correct about the existence of a clear biological binary, what difference would it make? A stranger’s blameless life would still be none of their fucking business. The fact that they’re wrong is almost beside the point.

Bit weird being back in Ireland and seeing everything changed, but the Bray cliff walk remains stellar

I'am here again. still suffering. Ramadan will over and Eid is coming, and I’am still sad, scared, and hungry. For those concerned, for 30 days not a single sip of water, medicine, or bite of food has entered Gaza. I need your donations to keep my family alive Please give for Eid to oppressed ppl🎁❤️

I mean, any kid that grew up with SFF definitely played their own version of spaceman spiff - that's got to have an effect. It did for me, at least. In a more tangible sense, I get a lot of ideas for writing/world-building by running homebrew TTRPGs

My new book ROSE OF JERICHO is out today. TODAY!! And I'll admit I'm a bundle of nerves. If you preordered it, bless you. If you didn't, it's not too late. No pressure, though. I'll just keep pacing around over here, biting my fingernails. us.macmillan.com/books/978125...

Radon’s editorial team is eager to read your poetry and short fiction! Give us your best experimental prose, your most masterful genre-blending, your as yet unseen worlds and unheard narrators. Give us your creativity; your rage, and your undiminished hopes. #WritingCommunity

@maddow.msnbc.com Can I get a repost? My comic is about two interracial interfaith husbands fighting Vampire warlords in the Wild West. It's full of queer love, scifi mysteries, and cowboy action. Together they take on a world that wants them dead. www.kickstarter.com/projects/jam...

I somehow missed that the publication date passed - but my sapphic Irish mythology flash piece "The Cailleach" was published in the January edition of @factorfourmagazine.com So happy to see it out there alongside other great little stories! Check it out here factorfourmag.com/the-cailleac...
