I think a lot of people need to read up on recent Iranian history both because it would help stop some huge mistakes and because a lot of it is genuinely fascinating. The fall of the Shah's regime to the rise of the Islamic Republic wasn't smooth or inevitable.

I think if you reboot, you properly reboot and start entirely from scratch and see where your "mysterious traveller in a box" story goes this time. Go entirely new or off into some of the other possibilities that were there from the start, not running down the Dalek/Time Lord etc path again.
