It is handy to think about factions from the top down, as a container for characters. But really, I guess factions are more like the shape where the Venn diagram overlaps: what is the shared concerns attract these characters? Might need to blog about this thought.

A classmate played a pulp action hero ttrpg character and would pull out these amazing one liners and short dramatic speeches and things. When I asked how he did that he said always sits down and writes a bunch of stuff like this when he makes a character and just has them in the hopper ready to go.

Was dashing back up to my hotel room in Halifax to grab something and nearly crashed into a big imposing fellow as I left the elevator. I stepped aside apologetically and held the elevator door. He said "very good of you, young man" and I thought "wow, he sounds like John Rhys-Davies." He was.

Holy moly, what was THAT? I just hear what sounded like a jumbo jet fly over but super loud and pretty slow. It took nearly a full minute to pass by. I've seen those Hercules choppers go by but this didn't have the thump of the propellors. Just a steady jet roar. #toronto

Johnathan Joss died a hero. He was murdered for being gay, he went out protecting his trans husband from being executed. They burned down their home and killed their pets and then they murdered Joss while trying to murder his husband. The New York times can barely muster "fatally shot." I hate this.
