Ah well, the best laid plans. Thwarted by a pulled shoe. Pats and treats instead, & biked the route I was going to ride with my riding hat on. Joy still bubbling up in my chest, like the 12yr old girl I still am inside, getting to ride other people’s ponies.

My dear daughter is 21 today. A wonderfully kind, principled funny & independent young woman; constantly astonishes me. Poet, horse wrangler, rugby player, sea dweller. Her birthday also means we’ve lived here 21yrs. ‘Band’ pic included, outside the house below the hill that raised them.
