Ben of Ben & Jerry’s showing Congress what it looks like to have a spine.

The press has been all over this shit but not a single fucking one has broken what a placebo trip would look like so, lets. 🧵🧵 www.reuters.com/business/hea...

Senate Republicans voted to kill an EPA rule limiting the seven most hazardous air pollutants emitted by chemical plants and other industrial facilities. Inhaling even small amounts of these pollutants can cause brain damage and cancer. How is this Making America Healthy Again?

Trump's reckless move to gut AmeriCorps is already hurting communities in Maryland and across the country. The "America First" president is coming after programs that help AMERICANS so he can pass a tax giveaway for himself, Musk and their billionaire friends.

Trump on Day One: Your costs will be lower immediately. Trump on Day 100: Your kids will now have fewer toys and also you're going to pay higher prices.

worth every second

Even the Atlantic can slip into the trap of adopting Trump's rhetoric. It says "Trump is delivering" on his commitment "to...cut government waste." Trump is cutting government operations, not government waste. He's not evaluating what is wasteful; he's slashing important programs—which has a cost.

Trump is demanding that DOGE investigate polls after his favorability numbers tanked so badly that even Fox News couldn’t spin them to look good. He’s calling it all “fraud.” Seems like a very “efficient” use of tax dollars.

these people hate DEI because they would be unemployable in any system where they couldn’t rely on favoritism and nepotism

Hearing Brown hasn’t received a cent of NIH funding since April 3. Again, this is what happens b/c we let a bunch of teenage losers illegally take over the government payment systems. This is what Orban did too— today’s neofascist takeovers involve taking control of money. Quotes in thread 1/

Walz: If you say you love freedom but you don't believe freedom is for everybody, then the thing you love is not freedom, it is privilege.

COLLINS: You said that if SCOTUS said someone needed to be returned you would abide by that. You said that on Air Force One just a few days ago TRUMP: Why don't you just say, 'isn't it wonderful that we're keeping criminals out of our country?' That's why nobody watches you anymore.

One thing I think people don’t understand is that South Korea is an incredibly polarized country, has absurdly high wealth concentration, and also requires absurdly high margins to remove the President. They did it anyway.

Good news. The American empire is falling. Bad news. I’m an American

In a way the tone is almost as frightening as the substance. The dissent writes like it understands the stakes, and what kind of regime we're on the precipice of becoming. The majority writes like it's hearing a case about whether rollerblades can be taxed as vehicles.

I will quit my job and work for any candidate who promises to put the leadership of this administration in the same overseas gulag they've been shipping people to

Sotomayor is right. According to this Supreme Court, the US can now kidnap, detain, and fly legal immigrants and citizens to a foreign country's prison, even if it's a whoopsie. America, people. Freedom and stuff.

To the world: We are fighting back. Our movement has been silenced by the media here—but we are not backing down. This is what our streets looked like across multiple cities. Tomorrow, there will be more of us! Raise a glass to freedom. —With love, Your American allies.

This is Utah in case anyone’s wondering how pissed off people are. I have never seen anything like this.

Chicago still believes in democracy! #HandsOff

Hands Off Protest Boston! April 5, 2025 Boston Common

It’s stunning to me that the New York Times did not put the story on the bloodbath at the NIH, CDC, and FDA on its front page this morning.

NOW: Sen. Cory Booker is speaking on the Senate floor and said he intends to hold the floor for as long as he is "physically able" to do so.

Next big chance to show up to support America! Protests all over the country Saturday, April 5th. We need big numbers. Protests in DC, every state capitol, and many other cities. Be present. Be loud. Bring others with you. @50501movement.bsky.social @indivisible.org Handsoff2025.com #HandsOff

As part of the #TeslaTakedown movement, people around the world are coming together today around noon for a Global Day of Action—with over 500 peaceful protests planned at Tesla facilities and public spaces. Our coalition is full of tree huggers, and we’ll be out there standing with you.

Ah, here come the price controls. How befitting. 🤡 @wsj.com $GM $F $STLA www.wsj.com/business/aut...

The Trump regime is working to deter dissent. Anyone who goes against Trump could end up on a target list. This is having a chilling effect on five major pillars of society — universities, science, the media, the law, and the arts. It's straight out of the fascist playbook.

This is so bad. Worse than people can imagine. When you work in our systems, you're generally working in dozens of separate programs that interact with the COBOL architecture. Every one of those would need to be rebuilt. Even if they succeed in migrating, no one would be able to do their jobs.

Nearly every Republican in the Senate voted to overturn a Biden Admin rule that limited bank overdraft fees to $5. This rule, initially established by the now gutted CFPB, was expected to save consumers $5 billion annually. The GOP is the party of junk fees.

Layoffs at NOAA, which warns us about severe weather Attacking NIH, which finds cures for illnesses Dismantling SSA, which administers Social Security payments Terminating food inspectors and food safety committees at the USDA... The "specifics" of DOGE put us all at risk.

Jeffrey Goldberg didn't ask to be added to this heinous signal chat. Mike Waltz, a guy whose LITERAL job is to KEEP SECRETS FOR THE COUNTRY added him because he's INCOMPETENT. Now these freaks have the audacity to go after him for publishing the chats THEY INVITED HIM TO? Fuck out of here.

What if the secret to winning elections is somehow Trump's syntax. We need a guy to say stuff like "But we're going to abolish billionaires and we'll be doing it very soon. They'll be paying very high taxes but it'll be very fair. And frankly they haven't paid taxes in a very long time"

“Unthinkable”

Pete Hegseth, in his Fox commentator days, about Hillary Clinton's emails: "Everyone knows what top secret means. … If you’re hiding that on a private server, that’s a very real problem and likely criminal charges [should] follow" www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...

Look, we are talking about a dipshit who almost killed someone with axe on live TV.

Pete Buttigieg: "They think all of this is a joke or a game. (Pete Hegseth) took classified information about American battle plans and randomly sent them to the wrong guy. If I made a mistake like this as a lieutenant, I would not only be fired but probably tried and in prison."

When we say “operational security is clean” we mean that we have just unwittingly and illegally texted war plans to a reporter over an unauthorized platform. by Pete Hegseth and Michael Waltz
