It has been four days since Kristi Noem, the head of the department of homeland security, said this in public. If meant literally, it describes the end of democracy in California. If not meant literally, would be nice for that to be clarified and for the troops to leave. bsky.app/profile/just...

On the lack of federal terrorism charges in Minn. killings, Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson says they "brought the charges that we think are appropriate right now."

FBI announces federal charges against Minn. suspect Vance Boelter. These include stalking and murder with a firearm, possible death penalty sentence.

Internet trolls are making a mockery of Donald Trump‘s beloved military parade.

Hennepin Attny. Mary Moriarty explains why the Minn. shooting suspect has only been charged with second degree murder. "These are the highest charges we can file by complaint, and it needed to be done quickly to get the warrant out [...] Our office intends to pursue first degree murder charges."

Also also — easily one of the worst Swamp-Mode DC days I’ve experienced in my decade of living here. Just showered and when i tell you i could feel the layer of salt dissolving off of my body.

“IN THIS ARTICLE: CRYPTO, DONALD TRUMP, JD VANCE, LOS ANGELES, MILITARY, PROTESTS, UFC, WAR ON TERROR”

@msnbc.com reporter at the 1:15 mark. “The chaos you’re seeing is not the result of peaceful protestors, it’s the result of actions of law enforcement, specifically the Los Angeles sheriff’s department.” #nokings

also did hegseth not speak???? did i black out his speech???

hit it wit da

Remarkable. MSNC: "I want to reiterate this has been 100% peaceful." Seconds later, LA County sheriffs start firing on the crowd. Yet again, "law enforcement" deliberately escalated.

Trump’s Military Parade Was a Gross (Expensive) Failure www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

A crowd of several dozen anti-Trump protesters is posted up at the parade exit, lot of back and forth with attendees

Trump supporters surround, scream, and chant at a lone protester. When one man rips his sign out of his hands he opens his backpack and pulls out another. Law enforcement and event security did nothing but watch and later told him that if things escalated he would be removed.

NOW: A raindrop hit my phone

So about an hour out from parade start, still plenty of room all along the route, doesn’t seem like anyone is fighting for space. Abundant water on a day that seems designed to induce heat stroke, though not nearly enough food. In general a level of turn out that doesn’t justify the price tag.

I encourage everyone to consider attending one of the many demonstrations planned for tomorrow across the country. Show up. Demand accountability. Peacefully protest. Find the rally closest to you: NoKings.org

dont worry guys, our military strategy is in the absolutely worst possible hands

At this point they may as well just set the national archives on fire because the laws are optional

Me, doing pod

S/o to @gelliottmorris.com for this awesome table rounding up all the recent polls showing that Trump is overplaying his hand on immigration and voters don't like it. www.gelliottmorris.com/p/all-the-po...

the people going on tv to accuse ngo's of paying protesters to incite violence are also posting this kind of shit to their millions of followers

it's like what the image says. they think they're kings — they think they rule us — and they want us to obey youtu.be/ULdUsHB-7VE

the thing is post jan 6 reality doesn’t matter, hegseth could run a senator over with a tank on saturday and the gop leadership would say they should have worn a less squishable outfit

“Remigration” is a white nationalist term adopted by the fascist right so it make sense that this president would use it when he openly admits this was never about targeting the bad apples among migrants

i’m like the michael jordan of saying “huh?” even though i heard you perfectly the first time

Is the lower concourse at Moynihan a destination for teens filming elaborate tiktoks? This reporter investigates.

Sen. Chris Murphy calls back to Trump's pardons for Jan. 6 rioters. "The message [...is that if...] you carry out violence on behalf of the White House -- you're excused. You lodge normal, protected protest against this White House? You are thrown to the ground and handcuffed."

Sen. Chris Murphy: "Spectacle is not illegal. Raising your voice is not a crime in this country [...] The standard here seems to be disruption, that if you are speaking truth to power, then you are going to be met by violence."

MSNBC with a great speed debunk of DHSs justifications for tackling and handcuffing Sen. Padilla. Padilla is the top Dem on the Senate Judiciary immigration subcommittee -- there's no way Noem (who meets regularly with senators on this topic) didn't know who he is.

Noem claims that NGOs receiving government grants are training professional protesters to commit violence.

Noem runs to Fox News to claim that Sen. Padilla "burst into the room and started lunging towards the podium" and "did not identify himself."

Padilla: If this is how DHS responds to a senator with a question you can only imagine what they're doing to farm workers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community and throughout California.

Sen. Brian Schatz: "This is the stuff of dictatorships [... Noem] was there and delivering her remarks within earshot the whole time. She has command authority over those agents who are arresting a leader in the legislative branch."

Sen. Chris Murphy responds to DHS claim that Padilla was "disrespectful." "Even if you believe that he was disrespectful — and given the times that is certainly in the eye of the beholder — that never justifies what we saw on that video."

Calif. Senator Adam Schiff calls on Republicans to condemn Padilla's treatment and arrest.
